SmokieOkie, I hear ya on the PowerPro, problem is I hate braid. I've tried it multiple times, got some now, just don't like the aggrevation that goes with using it. Never seen a braid that I could get untangled, and never seen a braid that wasn't prone to line wrap around the rod tip. Small diameter is also really hard for this old man to see and tie. I think the real answer is a dip net for the big ones and to retie my rigs more often, since I fish brush most of the time. It's always seemed like cheating to net a fish, just never have done it. Might have to rethink using a net, especially on the big ones.

Caught those fish on brush piles 14-17ft. Casting jigs through the brush piles. Caught a few on minnows, but most came casting jigs. They didn't want it setting still, they wanted it moving.

Sound slike you have never tried Power Pro then. I have untangles countless knots that you would never have gotten undone with mono. As to not being able to see it, there is no reason that you couldn't use much heavier test than what you would use in mono, but I have trouble seeing line as well so I just use the hi viz yellow. It stands out like neon even in the small diameters.

Well I fished Spencer Creek Saturday every which way I know how and caught zero crappie. Very humbling. Water temps 60 to 67 degrees.

hey crappie whisperer .try the net made by EGO it is telescopic and only weighs 1.5 lbs you can't go wrong . love mine but only use it in the spawn season , i can't seem to catchem very well other times so i walleye fish instead. i thing it extends 8 foot and can still lift 5 lbs

Nice catch there. Looks as if things are picking up on Oologah. Are you still playing with the electronics?

Crappiejiggin, yep most of the fish we caught were females and they were about to bust. The eggs looked like they were ready. If it weren't for the rain forecast, I'd bet this next week would've sent the males to the bank. Looks like the rain might set em back a week or so. This next full moon, it should be awesome. I can't wait to see those males turn black.

Yep, I'm still experimenting with my HB. Went out to the the main river channel last weekend, wanted to see if I could find a school on the channel break with the down imaging. I zig zagged along the break at 19ft dropping off into 35/40ft and found a brush pile with bait balls all around it. Saw fish chasing the bait balls and tried to catch em with a jig. Thought I got bit several times, but figured out it was the shad hitting my line instead. Gave up to go to the shallow brush piles for the evening bite, but I'll be returning to that spot.

Crop e man, thanks for the info on the EGO net. That's the one I've been looking at. Sure wish they were a little cheaper.

Maybe some rain coming next few days.
