Caught those 8 or 9 inchers casting a jig and some on minnows too. Black and chartreuse, and orange and chartreuse in 12 ft or less. I did catch one pole bender, a 5lb drum. I guess when you fish the south end don't be surprised when things go south. As always Oologah will be the last lake the corp will let water out of. They always hold Oologah back so they can let water out everywhere else. 12ft up and rising, it's gonna be a while before things get back to normal, and more rains in the forecast.
I wonder if they have to wait for the barge traffic downstream to clear before they let her rip.

Fished yesterday with Todd Huckabee down at Eufaula...thought we'd need shovels to dig 'em out of that mud, but we managed to boat 33 keepers...no real pattern...just slow trolled the banks and grinded it out. The fish didn't seem to relate to any structure at all, but when we got bit, it was usually under shad. Bottom was smooth and clean. Huckabee continues to amaze me with his ability to find them when nobody else can.

Pretty sad the fishin has been so bad on Oologah that the thread fell off the first page. I've been fishin, but haven't caught enough to post any reports or pictures. Been catchin 5 to 10 keepers each trip, but I haven't been catchin any good fish. Tried my luck again today and finally caught a few good fish, biggest was 1.60. Caught 10 crappie, 4 sandbass and a 4lb flathead today. Water color is still terrible, clarity is less than a foot, but they have shut the gates down to less than 1000 cfs and the lake is less than a foot high. No real pattern today, just tried everthing and everyway I could think of. Seemed like 12 ft was where I found the most fish. Maybe now that they've quit pullin water out the water will clear up and they'll start biting better. Wish I could give a better report, but it's been tough ever since the lake went up 12 ft. I know these pictures aren't impressive, but it's a start.

Don't want to hijack the Oologah thread, but I fish mainly north of 412 bridge, up around Walnut creek area, both sides of the lake and those 2 coves north of the sailboats. You been to Keystone lately?
