Hey what has happened to posts about Eufaula fishing reports?
Jim can't speak for everyone else except EB and Myself. EB has started back to school and Football season being a coach is the busy time of year for him and hard to get on the water. As for me I have been nursing a bad back now for 3 weeks and taking treatments 3 days a week. Starting to feel better now but not taking a chance till I am 100%. This coming week I will be with my Dad in OKC as he is having surgery again on his neck again. Possibly by the last week of this month I will be back in business. Keeping my fingers crossed.......Ranger
I know what you meen about battling something.I have been fighting the big "C" for about 4 months and getting my feet back under me and hoping to go fishing soon.jim
Praying that your battle is completely successful VH. If you are worn out from the fight with this illness maybe you can just learn to fish sitting down. We all gotta figure that one out eventually. Hope to see you out soon.

Oops!
I'll put you on my prayer list VH !
It appears it is gone per the doc.The med they had me on totally kiched my butt.I took it for three months and was totally exhausted had no energy to do anything. thanks for the thoughts.jim
Very good news. Now let's see if those meds made you any better a fisherman Jim. (-;
The fishing around our dock had been so bad lately I hadn't even attempted anything. But now that the air temps are cooling off a bit, the water temps should start falling as well. I wanted to do a little fishing last weekend, but when we got to our lake place Friday night, we found a large tree had fallen over in the driveway (it was dead and had been leaning, so I knew it was going to happen some day). So I spent all day Saturday cutting up the small stuff and burning them in a barrel that I put over the stump. Burning all of the brush also burned the stump to the ground. Cut up the main tree into fireplace-length then hauled them all down to my wood pile. I plan to buy a log splitter due to all the trees we've either taken down and all of the ones I still plan to take down this year. But soon I'll be dedicating some time to drowning a minnow.
Hey everyone I'm going to try to go fishing this evening after practice, going to see if they are piling up in my brush I put out last summer. EB
Hope you tear them up EB. I know you deserve a break by now!
EB hope you catch bunches.will check later to see.I am thinking of going tomorrow havent got to go for about 4 mo. don't have the slightest idea of where to go.any info will be appreciated!
How is your FB team doing EB? Not getting much local news here. Look forward to your slab report- hope you packed your digital and yardstick.
Went out yesterday after practice, took my girlfriend Junie with me. We caught several small fish but only 5 keepers. Biggest was 1.79. We were casting and dragging blk/chart minnow mindrs and pearl baby shads over brushpiles in 10-15ft. It was really a nice evening. EB
Ciller, football team is pretty good, best defense we've had in 6 years. We are 2-0 big rivalary game tonight. Eufaula @ Checotah. This is the 99th meeting. Checotah leads series 50-47-1!
Good luck and thanks for packing your digital for the 1.79 big fish report. Hope that defense takes you all the way!
Finally got back on the water after about a month layoff from back problems and family illness. Fished mid lake on wood in 6' to 15' and WT was 76 degrees. Vis was really good on main lake at about 2' and 8" on the South Canadian side if 69hwy. Caught between 40 to 50 and a lot of small fish in there too. Big Fish was a 1.81 toad and several between 1.35 to 1.65. Kept 10 3/4 to 1lb fish for supper. All other fish were returned unharmed and swam away. Technique was Cast n Drag using the BoneHead 7' Light Action Rod, 6lb Bonehead Hi Vis Mono, Bonehead Slim Sticks, Mikes Custom Plactics, and Timmy Tom Jigs. Shallow wood was the best all day long........Ranger
I believe I have asked this before but can't remember the response but is that 7' a one piece? I remember the 6'6" being one.
Thanks for the fishing reports guys, I had about given up on hearing a good report for the last 3 months.
I got to take my girlfriend (Junie) and the kids (Rian shes 6 and Kutter hes 11) fishing Saturday for 3 hrs. We were kentucky rigging minnows down in the brushpiles in 8-14ft right off the bottom. We ended up keeping 15 for supper. Probably caught 35 or so. It was a great day taking fish off for the kiddos. We had the best looking minnow girl on the water and she caught most all the fish. EB
I can see why all the fish wanted to come topside and meet her!
I guess I'm the only who doesn't know "Kentucky rigging with minnows". EB can you explain? Thanks.
WW
WW "Kentucky Rig" is a minnow rigged with the weight on the bottom and the hook tied 12 inches above. EB
Nip, the 7 ft Bonehead is a one piece.
I was able to get out for 3 hrs before dark yesterday ended up with 17 keepers but didnt catch them till late in the evening. I wanted to go through my thought process a little bit. When I first got on the water I was thinking about double dippin jigs along the rip rap because I have noticed signifigant current under the bridges. I started with 3inch washoppas fished about 50 yds with no bite. Then I decided to try some of my brushpiles, some were in 8-10ft some in 14-16ft. Started to get bit some, but the fish were small. So I ran to a bank with some bigger chunk rocks in 5-7ft some in 8-11ft and some in 13ft. I was casting and dragging this with a blk/chrt minnow mindr. I was getting bit but the fish were small. Then I decided to trow up shallow in 5ft and WHAM a fish around a pound. Ended up with 5 off this spot. Then I got to thinking, maybe those fish are on the rap just alot shallower than I thought, so I changed baits, I put minnow mindrs and both of my double dippin rods and put my baits right off the bottom in 7-8ft. The first fish I caught was over 1.50, these fish were hammering the bait but you had to be close to the bottom. I could drop my rod tip to the surface off the water and feel the bottom, so I was 6inch-1ft off the bottom. By this time I only had 1hr left to fish and probaly caught over 30 total double dippin. I thought I would share my thinking yesterday. Sometimes we know what pattern to fish just need to adjust a little bit to put 17 in the boat instead of 5. EB
thanks for the detailed info. we like that EB!
EB, thanks for posting your thought process. It's good to have an insight into how you think about how to find the fish.
I was fishing my local lake last weekend and was dropping my bait to the bottom and slowly reeling it up and was getting bit. Fish were right off the bottom too.
EB Thanks for posting your thought process up. It helps me figure out how I should be thinking.
X2!
Well I launched the boat yesterday evening around 5:40 and fished till 7:30 and had 21 keepers. Best 7 weighed 9.94. Double dippin in 7-8ft with bobby garland minnow mindrs. blk/chart and pump/chart on Crappie pro heads. These fish right now are relating heavly to the breakline. They were biting fast, probaly caught over 40 in 1hr 1/2. Lots of shad on the screen and flippin on top but most of the crappie are right off the bottom. EB
Due to the heat, I've stayed mostly inside all summer.........haven't wet a hook since May. But as we see milder days and a decrease in water temp, I'm getting back in the saddle. I sure have missed my fishing, but when its hot, I have no choice.....the heat will literally kill me. Watched one of my fishing buddies yesterday catch a few off the dock using jigs. He said some friends of his were catching them on minnows this weekend. I will probably hit the dock this evening and if I do any good, I will post some results. :twocents
Good luck Jim. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to put out some cedars at our dock if it doesn't rain all weekend.
Glad to see you posting stink!
