I love to see the future of c.c holding up big slabs with even bigger smiles. You and Brian are good men Mark. Wish I had you guys around when my kids were small.
Does anyone pull cranks on Eufaula for crappie? Thought would pulling cranks and look for wood and maybe fish 69 bridge.
Thanking about putting in at Indian Springs south of Texanna Road. Thanks for any info you can give.
Sometimes need a fishing Buddy PM me if interested. I live one mile from Bass Pro in
Broken Arrow
I've had fair luck pulling cranks around rip rap. Don't do it much as I like feeling the thump as much as eating crappie. I've recently pushed cranks some with just as good results as pulling.
Minnowtime, I .... like IkenI have pulled cranks along the rip rap and natural banks on Eufaula. I have never loaded the boat but have caught good fish up to 2.3 lbs. I think if you find the right natural bank you could put a lot of crappie in your boat also. Doug
Odie and I fished today and kept 28, biggest was 1.48. We were casting and dragging brushpiles in 14-20ft. Pump chart was good, also white was good. North wind made the bite a little tough. Had to leave the jig down there for a second. Fish slow, feel a limb then let it sit there then slowly move it again. EB
Took my brother fishing for a couple of hours this evening battling all the boat traffic. Fished 3 brushpiles and caught 33 keepers in 2 hrs. Pump chart minnow mindrs was the hot bait. EB
Fished yesterday with my brother aka "Big Cork" started in Gaines creek ended up catching a few and missing a few. Fish were in 3-5 fow. Stumps, logjams, and Laydowns. Lime chart beavertails was a good bait. We fished 4 hours in the creek then headed out to main lake points. We double dipped and pulled jigs, fish were shallow 3 ft deep in 3-5 ft. Big green pump pearl wasshoppas was the best bait. EB
Fished the standing timber east of arrowhead friday and the timber around bristow point, tough day of fishing only catchin 5. I normally do pretty good in those areas but the water was a lil dinger than what i like for that area. Dont know if that was my problem or just me having a bad day. Fish i caught was in 10 to 12' , 3 to 6' deep. Also shot docks north of arrowhead with no luck.
The wife and I Tried the cast and drag technique for the first time Saturday on dripping springs lake. Let's just say we have a lot of learning to do. Lol
Fished 2 different areas of the Lake today. I40 this morning then Eufaula Cove to Longtown this afternoon. Didn't catch very many had 10 biggest was 1.25. But I was able to help 2 groups of people broke down. I guess it was my day help someone in need. Thank you Lord for choosing me today. EBAttachment 167614
Atta boy EB, never know when you'll need help on the water!
The lord has angels everywhere.
You're a good man Brian!
Unfortunately, holiday weekends bring out lots of boats that become broken down on the water -- the 1 or 2 times each year they get used and not well maintained. We are always on the lookout for boats that need assistant -- we have plenty of time to look since 20mph is our top speed on the pontoon boat.
Tried a little fishing on Sunday and Monday at the dock. Didn't have any minnows so I tried a few different jigs. Not a thing so I went back to floating in the water with a tall cold beverage.
paying it forward is always a good idea as we never know when we maybe on receiving end. Good man.
I'm glad you were on the right end of the rope Brian.
Fished mid lake yesterday in the rain. Fished piles in 12 to 20 FOW, used jigs and live shad for fun, caught a lot of "client" fish.
How big is a "client fish"?
Next week is suppose to be great. Has any one done any good in duchess this time of year? I have only fished it once and thougt I'd try to jump stumps. Any help would be great.
brett
x3!
Bigger than what I catch, I hope!!
Big enough and more importantly, frequently enough to keep clients happy! And in my case, keep me happy.
No action on forum lately. I've caught some dipping timber on the north side of the lake with minnows. Wondering south side/Gaines creek still really muddy.
Well we started down by Massey Pt pulling jigs caught 5, then we ended up fishing standing timber around Mulhuldy creek caught 10 keepers. Loaded up headed up around Eufaula fished bridge peirs and had 18 more keepers. Ended the day with a nice mess, pretty good boat ride and 3 different techniques. We fished big 3" wasshoppas pulling but the water was 3 inch vis. Then flipped pearl white baby shads on the timber water looked good around 10 inch vis, then in the bridges we fished little wasshoppas sprayed with flee fly lure flavor. It seemed to make a difference. This fish were in the same end if every peir in the shade around 12-15ft deep. EB
We fished at the dock a little last week when my relatives were visiting from Colorado (enjoying the cooler weather). We caught a couple of little dinks then I finally snagged a nice one.

Many of you might recall Isaac, our water hating lab. Well, since he's also blind in 1 eye, his momma makes him wear a life jacket and doggles on the boat.

Geez, lol.
That's cool toon, doggles!
That's cool Toon. So is your dock a hot summer dock? May have to fish it more and give us a report!
That's the funniest thing I've seen in a while!!!!
Me cpd21 and his son Nick went out to put some more brushpiles out today. We put out 7 more piles then fished the rest of the day. Cleaned over 30, some fish were caught on brush We out out yesterday some if Rock piles. Fish seemed to like that 8-14fow. Blk chart minnow mindrs was the bait. We cast and dragged all day. Going to be fishing Eufaula sometime soon, maybe tomorrow if I can get out, and trying to get it mapped out. If I'm not mistaken there is timber North of I-40. What is the best ramp to launch from up that a way? I'm in a smaller jon boat and can't be hot rodding from one side of the lake to another. I could but I would run out of gas once I got to the other side, lol.
I also plan on fishing the bridge just south of Eufuala city. I have found a ramp for that part of the lake.
I hear Gaines Creek is excellent. Should I just bypass everything else and drive the extra distance to fish it?
Any other help would be greatly appreciated, like coordinates to a brush pile or two, hint hint. ;) Won't be getting a good side/down imaging finder with GPS until next year and I'm kinda fishing blindly right now. I'm relying on my phone for GPS.
The water is muddy in the Highway 9/69/9A Triangle. The water clarity is better at Dam Site south. Launching from Broken Cove State Park there is a courtesy dock. It is protected from a south wind. Heading south/southeast from there to goose creek will provide you with Timber and brush piles. Hit and miss with out electronics to show them.
Yeah without electronics I have to stick to bridge pillars and standing timber. I have fished some brush piles at my local lake because they have the coordinates posted online.
I have some waypoints for brooken, remind me Monday and I'll send you some if you want ?
Roger that.
Buddy and I fished i40 bridge today. Let's just say it wasn't the best day but it wasn't a zero either. 16 in 4 hours vertical jigging bridge pillars. Tried the old cast and drag technique on some brush piles I found almond riprap. Hung up every time. Looks like I need to schedule a training appt with EB or Ranger in the future so I can get this figured out. Lol. Most fish caught at 10-14 ft. Biggest 1.2 lbs. black/pink. Green/chartreuse and black/chartreuse was best colors. Fished 7am-11am
Did you have some type of weed guard on the hook?
