Haven't fished today or yesterday, but almost every day before that and have done decent. Catch enough to have a good time and a nice dinner of crappie when I go.
2014 report moved to archives. Post new report here.
Odie
Alright I'll post on the thread first, I fished the north end yesterday for 3 hrs and caught 5 keepers. It took me a little while to find some but they wanted to bite. They were on deeper banks in 20 fow down around 15ft deep. I was double dippin pumpchart minnow mindrs and crappie pro jig heads. I thik I can go back and catch a few now that I know where they want to be. WTs were 34-37 degrees EB
EB, thanks for the update. Is there such a thing as WTs being too cold for them to bite? I hope to find some time this weekend to see how they are biting down at the dock. Will post an update then.
That's a start!
No theres no temps too cold for them to bite, our boys way up north ice fishing would back me up on this. EB
Where they at guys?
Found some 10 to 25 feet on brush and suspending, only 1 bite in the last 4 or 5 times I've been out. Found a brushpile sunday that was loaded and thats where i got bit, tried jigs and minnows.
Fished at our dock for a couple of hours on Friday and caught 1 little dink. Finally got around to replacing the cedars hanging under the dock on Saturday. Fished again on Sunday for a couple of hours, and the new cedars were working -- the fish were back! Fishing with minnows at about 8-10' in 15 FOW. Went back Monday and caught about a dozen nice slabs.
It's really fun catching 2 at a time on a crappie rig. And here was our dinner Sunday -- fried crappie and tater tots.
Great Pictures! EB
Nice job OKToon! Your making me hungry!
Ok I spent all day on the south end of the lake in 5-25fow. I fished brushpile after brushpile only catching 3 by noon. Started scanning with my side scan Lowrance and found em. Believe me I never thought the fish would be where they were. Literally thousands of fish on the deepest wind blown bank in the creek. From 2-15ft crappie were suspended schooled on bait. The fish deeper that 8ft wouldn't bite for whatever reason. Ended up with 12 between 10&14 inches. All in 25+ fow only 2-8 ft down. Bobby Garland minnow minders. Go get em
Jigz, great report EB
Went today back where I caught them the other day. Caught 10-15 only 5 goodens. Don't know where they went but couldn't find schooled fish today. Not a fish came off brush. Very scattered and suspended. A few non active fish. Oh yeah, it was too windy to fly a kite today
Caught nice ones on Saturday at the dock, including a 1.02 lb crappie. Added 3 more to the basket in an hour on Sunday including a 1.12 crappie. Wind was really brutal on Sunday. Rigged up a nice wind block on the dock with heavy duty tarp and bungee cords.
Glad your catching em jigs and toon. I can find em just cant get em to bite. Its bound to go my way one day!
Lol must be the change in weather guys. I went to kerr lake today up the creek. There are more fish up the than I've seen in a long time and the same story Yall have. Couldn't get em to bite. Pressure or weather has em screwed up. Caught 4 keepers.
A buddy came down this weekend and we fished at the dock on Saturday and Sunday. Couldn't get any nibbles at normal fishing depth of around 10' so we came up to around 4-5' and caught a few nice ones on Saturday. The wind and temp was brutal on Sunday so we didn't fish long and only caught a couple more. Ended up cleaning 16 really nice ones for our weekend efforts. Had a fish fry Saturday night with the filets I caught the previous weekend.
Good report Toon Im hearing some good reports on the dock fishing here lately. EB
Nice report Toon.
slow going for me on the north end. ended up marking brush instead of doing much fishing.
Finally caught some saturday on the lower end, kept 12 and a flathead, all came off of wood piles about 8 to 12 ft, water temp hit 53 by the time we left. Marked lots of scattered fish, still just a slow bite, the ones i cleaned had eggs so hopefully it wont be too much longer before they turn on good.
I did notice a couple of weeks ago how many that I cleaned have eggs in them. I was hoping this was a good sign that the spawn is not too far in the distant future.
Slab Addict, thanks for the info about the lower end. I never got a chance to fish at the dock this past weekend. I took advantage of the nice temps on Saturday and got some work down around our lake place.
I spent 2 hours cleaning/buffing 1 of the logs on our pontoon boat. Here's a "before" and "after" set of pics.
That looks like a lot of work Toon!
Crappie start developing egg sacks late summer and continue to grow all winter......Ranger
Fished at our dock this weekend. Wasn't expecting much on Friday, but actually had a good day keeping 18 in about 3 hours. Using minnows in 18FOW and fishing anywhere from 5-9' deep. Went back on Saturday and only added 5 more to the basket in a couple of hours. It was much colder on Saturday and my make-shift wind block didn't do much to block the NE winds - I'm more set up to block the SW winds.
Wife and I tried the north end today and got BLANKED!!!.....found fish and baitfish but could not get a bite.....tried big jigs, small jigs, trolled fast and slow....fish and bait were deep 17 to 20 ft.....alot of bait fish and water temp 41 was the warmest.......may have to try minnows next time.....this time we got our tails kicked.

We have all had a huge slice of that "Humble Pie" fishing the north end of Eufaula. EB
Anyone have any suggestions on where I might can get kids on some fish this week. They're on spring break and I took a vacation to try our luck. We do have a boat too. Thanks for any advice.
Crowder park is kid friendly....... even has a long walkway to a floating dock set up for kids.
Started at Blue creek today, never saw water so muddy. Kept driving south til I got to arrowhead, much cleaner. Marked some piles for later but no takers. Stopped by Fountainhead just to check clarity. Nadda. Tuff day... I don't like this lake!
Fished Saturday and today at my friend's dock here at Arrowhead Estates. only had 4 keepers, but they're nice crappie. I watched one of those self-help guru's being interviewed by Charlie Rose the other night on television and he was expressing all the ways to meditate and relax. Got him self all worked up trying to convince Charlie and the audience what he did was note worthy, and heck, maybe it is. But I know when I'm fishing and not even getting a bite, I'm doing my own fashion of meditation. I can't think of any better way to relax and let my old mind empty out the trash.
Caught these fish on jigs about 8 feet down with very little movement. They are biting softly and you have to be on your toes to time your jerk just right. I guess a couple of times I was just too relaxed..........lol
Thanks for info stink. May hit the crowder area sometime this week. My dad and I fished the north end today and managed to catch 1 catfish and 1 sandbass. Lots of baitfish found but nothing that would bite.
Fished north end today. Kept 16 crappie and 2 sandbass. Threw back another 15 to 20 small crappie. Very finicky bite. Just nibble nibble and run with it.
