Was able to fish with my buddy Charlie today and what aday it was. Closed the LW lid at 11:15 with 30 big beautiful crappies taken up living quarters in it. Baits of choice today were SLAB BANDITS in pearl/truse, sunfish, and blk/pink colors. We had some of the prettest fish I have ever caught on Ft Gibson with 20 of the 30 over 1 1/2lbs. We had a total of 47 keepers today all caught before 2:30pm.....Ranger

I was disappointed that Charlie turned down the offer to fish in my boat this afternoon. It has to be exhausting taking all those fish off the hook for Ranger! Lol! Actually I tried to keep my distance but every time I looked their way it seemed like they were both hooked up. I watched em throw back some nice educated fish too. I spent a lot of time learning the hard way today and finally got on a good pile at about 4:30 and caught 6 keepers in 30 minutes. Largest was a white 14" that went 1lb 10 oz. I am not gonna say what my day's total was. SLIGHTLY less than the wizards I would guess. I was just glad to run into them; otherwise I might have thought it was a slow bite day! Water temp was 59 all day.
Reaper on your signature line he is holding out his bony right hand as if to show us the emaciated slab he has reaped. You are young and tech savvy. Can't you make that happen some day when life slows down? I still want decals of that for everything I own....
Had a nice day on Thursday chucking and crawling jigs in about 20fow. Caught 31 with 19 keepers. Seven blacks over a pound qualified for the witness relocation program in my one acre pond. Eight whites qualified for dinner and seem content to reside in the freezer for now. The early bite was really aggressive and got lighter and lighter as the day progressed. By noon I was missing more than I was catching and had two big pigs fight all the way to the boat then as I started to lift em in they opened their mouths and spit my BG out. I use a real light Falcon rod and mono and when the big girls clamp that bait in their teeth I don't always get a great hook set. Not that I don't try to break their necks when they thump! Water is finally cooling down some with temps rising from 55 to 58 by 4:00. Not sure if color mattered much as I caught fish equally on whatever I threw but I did have either pink or chartreuse on all day. I am still kind of a newbie; don't have many real successful outings so thanks for the opportunity to share. They must be on guys. When I limit out they must be on.
Went to Ft Gibson Saturday for first crappie trip of year. New to really fishing for crappie and only got 3. One was 2 lbs the other two a little over 1 pound. Sure was hoping for a limit but couldn't get them. Missed probably 7 bites that I felt hit but no hook up. As time goes hopefully I can figure how to find and catch them. A lot different than bass fishing for sure. It was long drive but it was nice and first fishing trip with new boat that I got in January. Only ran motor about 45 minutes probably at most so didn't run far at all. Boat rides great and fishes pretty good. Think I'll try Friday at lake close to home at Oolagah.
We were able to get back Gibson yesterday. Due to the winds we had to go up in the river and try some new places. It was like a dead man "One to a hole". Ended up with some nice fish though, had 32 keepers. It was casting and crawling yesterday. Barely drag it over the limbs. We them on Baby shads and minnow mindr's. Black and chart was the hot color. The fish semed to be in 15ft or deeper. EB
I'm going to go try around Mazie and three fingers tomorrow. Did you fish around these areas E.B.?
