I think the fish would be too scattered to be any banner night LLing. I'm sticking to daytime fishing when it comes to the long rods.

Sam, You are correct once again. That 4 lbs test line has to be tied in the day light.

How deep will they run at .8mph?
    1/8 & 1/32
    1/8 & 1/16

I have that chart but it just shows single and double jig depths of the same weight.

Your running depth will have a lot to do with the amount of line out and the angle that the rods are setting. It is really best to spend some time on flats of different depth and make notes of when your baits start hitting bottom (speed, line size, jig weights and line out ). Once you spend a day making these notes your longlining will improve and you will know "where" your jigs are running. No two boats will be the same no matter what the charts say..

Yea, that chart is really just a general statement. I mean take a look......a jig running 4'-9' deep?!? Running from .6-1.1mph?!? Get real! You NEED to do your homework pulling jigs until they bump bottom and see what YOUR setup does. Then, when ylu see fish hanging right at 12' deep you'll know what to do.

when I give that chart as a reference and say this is what I go by does not mean I follow the chart , and if someone goes to that direction then they did not read the article !!! you can lead a horse to water you cannot make it drink !!!! I would hope someone would have enough in them to test what works for them and not expect to have it handed to them !!!! when I am pulling my jigs I know exactly where they are at !!!!

I used to worry about all that stuff, but then I started pulling jigs.

Seriously, though, it really is one of those things that you can't figure out until you have just been doing it for a few days...Or go to a flat and experiment and take notes.
