I'm playing catch-up because you guys been busy while I was away makin da cover holdits...

No problem at all Don...it's very confusing with all the different models and technologies...then throw into the mix the experimental xducer setups too...

Any HB unit that the model name ends in x97, x98, or x99 will be a SI unit (capable of "computer generated" DI images from the SI crystals)...the xducer's for these models will always have 1 round disk 2d piezo and 2 rectangular "side-pointing" piezoes...(NO "down-pointing" piezo)...

Any HB unit that the model name ends in x57, x58, or x59 will be a "dedicated DI unit"...the xducer's for these models will always have 1 round disk 2d piezo and 1 rectangular "down-pointing" piezo....(NO "side-pointing" piezoes)...

Neither of the 2 different technology xducer's (SI xducer's or dedicated DI xducer's)...are blessed by HB to use on the other technology based unit...(they are just not made for that)...

Does HB know what we are experimenting with...??....absolutely...
Will our experiments ever come to fruition in a new product...??...only HB knows...

I just can't leave stuff alone when I have so many experiments I want to try make this 1197 do...
