Went to Oologah today and man was it tough! We only managed 3 keepers for 5 hours of fishing. I really hate Oklahoma wind, seems like it is always blowing except in the summer when it would actually help. The water was more stained than it was a couple weeks ago which probably didn't help. Fished from 25 - 15 fow and couldn't get anything going. Tried several of the Corp brush piles that we have caught them on in the past and they just weren't there. Wonder if maybe they've starting moving shallow yet? Water temp was around 48 degrees.

Hey Schif,
I have to take responsibility for some of that wind thing. I've learned that as soon as I drop my trolling motor into the water, the wind increases 5 fold. It's some kind of natural phenom, much like when a butterfly flaps its wings in Africa and creates a Hurricane in the Caribbean. I don't understand it, I just know it happens without fail

I made it home from a 3 day vacation in Branson around 1230 today. I installed a new trailer light on boat trailer and decided to hook the boat up and go. I got on the water about 230 and fished until 6. I ended up with a limit today. I fished Blue creek in about 12 fow and the fish were suspended around brush 8-9 feet deep. I caught them best on Blk/char, but did catch some on electric chicken, cajun cricket, and pumpkin/char. 20 or so were 10 inch fish the rest were 11-12 inches with one almost 15 inches. I'll try and take some pictures in the am. I iced them down for the night.

Went to Spencer Creek this afternoon, 3/19/2010. Water temp was 52 at the ramp with a brisk wind blowing from the southeast. We putted around for a bit and then headed up into the creek about as far as we could go. Found some 59 degree water but no fish. Did not get a bite on jigs or minnows and did not see any evidence of any bait fish. Left the creek about 3:30 and slow trolled the creek channel in the open water east of the boat ramp before you get to the timber. Slow trolled over brush along the bank east of the boat ramp and then went south by the old park area along the bluff and slow trolled there. Did not catch a fish and as far as I could tell we did not get a bite.

Fished the blue creek area and had 7 nice keepers. The nice thing about today is I fished from the bank casting 1/16 oz jigs and slowly bring it back to me. Blk/cht, red/cht, and the cricket. Lots of fishing people out today, and some were catching. Saw one nice 15in crappie caught on minnows. I've been going to this area for the past week, and it has been producing fish. This cold weather will make them tighten up for a couple days, but fear not cuz the sun will shine again.

Sorry for the delayed post I fished Eufaula yesterday and didn't get home until late and have had a busy morning. I fished Blue creek again Thurs. It just goes to show a prettier day does not make the fishing better. Since I had caught them Wed., I decided to take my boy and his cousin with me on Thurs. and show them a good time. It wasn't a total bust, but considerably slower than Wed. We fished from 830 to 3pm and kept 22. The warm weather had a lot of people out fishing. I saw 3 boats out Wed. and counted 14 boats Thurs. We all caught fish and the boys even got a 2 hour nap around noon while I checked some new areas. It was a good day spent with the boys but not the catch fest like I expected. All fish caught on jigs, with blk/char and cajun cricket being the best. Water depth 8-10 with fish 6-8 feet.
