Odie that's fantastic! You are pretty consistent with those slabs. One of these days I'd like to get some lessons from you about the lake and tactics.

It just depends. I've been out and got skunked if I go at dusk. Most of the time I have a good bite at night is when I go around 2-3 am and fish until around 10. The summertime bite can be good, but once the sun comes up, they'll tend to start moving deeper. The spawn has been like this for the last couple of years now. Seems to be easier to catch them from 3 am till around 9 am. I usually fish brush along a bank that drops off at a steady pace.
Just wanted to post the weekend report. I fished Sat. afternoon solo and caught about 20 fish but only 3 keepers. We fished Sun. afternoon and caught about 40 fish and had 14 keepers. Had to move around a lot to catch them. We didn't catch a single fish today on the places we have been catching them. We fished some brush piles that we have never fished before. Caught most of them on Corp piles on south end of lake. Wind was a problem. I am going to fish Tues. and Wed. if the wind cooperates. I'll give the report. Did anyone else fish this weekend?
Nope i didnt fish i was working nights all weekend i will get off tues morning and i will fish wed and thur.
Big goose egg both days.
Yea, we fished for a couple of hours Sat afternoon on the south side of the lake and kept 14. I used Bobbie Garland pink and black Slab Slayers and my son used Yum Beaver tails...great baits. Wind was not bad, which made it a lot more enjoyable.
Tough fishin last weekend fished 4 brushpiles with fish all over them and couldn't talk more than 4 fish to bite. We had been catching 30 to 35 keepers and I don't know how many dinks on previous weekend days and it was like somebody turned the tap off. I didn't figure it was worth my gas to run to other spots. Three other boats had the same luck as we did. My dad tells me he is catching them at eufaula by drifting the creek channels with jigs set at 10 to 12 feet. He said he caught 49 keepers Saturday.
You guys get ready to check the shallows for some of the early big boys. This time of year, you never know when they'll be in there.
I fished solo today from about 12:30 to 5:00. I caught about 35 and had 9 keepers. Only 1 big fish and 8- 10-11 inchers. I caught most of the fish in 18- 22 feet of water about 14-16 feet deep. Using yum beavertails in black/char. The bite has shut off for me around Talala creek. I have moved to south part of lake. Any one else been fishing?
I worked, thought bout fishin or working on the boat all day.
