With so many piles a "good one" is just a waypoint away. I have found some that aren't on the corp list and wondered in the back of my mind when someone would show up and throw a little fit. So far it hasn't happened.

That's just foreign to me. There has only been 1 time that I've wanted to fish a particular pile and there was someone on it. I don't know that I've ever noticed someone wanting to fish one I was on. I'm surprised really but it just hasn't been an issue. I'm lucky I guess.
Fished wed in the on and off rain. First time out in about 6-7 weeks. The fish were not in the places they were last I fished, so did some exploring. Found fish in and above brush piles in 23 to 18 feet of water last 2 hours of the day. I wish I would have abandoned the old pattern sooner. Used BG shad jigs and minnows. Kept six, all the fish were good size except one. If I would have abandoned my old spots sooner, I would have done much better, but it was good to get out and enjoy the cooler air and find some really good new spots.
Went out with a friend Saturday morning after that really heavy rain Friday night. Water was murky from all the run off, but the lake didn't seem to have come up much. We brought home 19 keepers and caught at least that many throw backs. I thought the heavy rain would hurt the bite and it did. The crappie liked jigs more than minnows, and the minnow bite was odd all morning. The crappie were just pecking at the minnows and were slow to take them. Kinda same thing with the jigs, had quite a few hits where they bit the tail of the plastic and pulled it off the hook. Just an odd fishing day after all that rain.
I made it out late yesterday evening and fished for an hour and a half until I put my minnow bucket into the lake with the door open. No more minnows! I cleaned 30 fishing brush in 10 to 15 foot of water.
I was on the lake yesterday fishing for blues and I didn't see a thermocline. Was wondering if the crappie were still holding at about 15ft? Saw a couple of guys fishing the north side of kite hill catching a few from the brush piles.
Fished solo Sunday from 6:00 to 11:00. Pretty nice morning it was cloudy, but there wasn't any wind. Did pretty good on jigs early and did better on minnows later in the morning. The bites came in spurts all morning. Seemed like the crappie would bite good for 30 minutes then taper off. Had a couple of good runs throughout the morning where I had multiple doubles. It was like a school would come through and the bite was on. Fished 14-17ft brush piles and went from shallow to deeper the later it got. Tight lined minnows at 8ft early and slowly moved deeper. Ended the day fishing just off bottom. Brought home 29 keepers, nothing huge, just good eaters. Lost some good fish that hung me up in the brush as usual. Probably need to start using Crappie Chat's method of using 60lb braid and just pull em out of the brush. Here's a pic of the 29 I brought home.

Thanks for the good report, CW, also enjoyed the pictures!
I made it out at about 6:30 last night and fished until dark. I fished 1 brush pile in 12 foot of water and took home 35 keepers. I fished minnows about 2 or 3 feet off the bottom and the fish were hanging around the edge of the brush.
I soo miss posting on this thread. I have been soo busy for that last few months..my boat keeps calling my name. And so does the frying pan..it says (feed me fish!)
Hoping to get out on the big O soon and hit em hard.
