Tuesday evening I caught 20 keepers from about 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Yesterday I ended up with 23 in the boat but all of them were caught before 10:00 AM. Did not catch anything after 10 with the exception of a couple of black bass and rock bass. It was difficult to get out of the wind yesterday afternoon.
Out of the 43 fish caught over the last 2 days it was pretty much a mix, males and females. I would say that half of the females were spawned out while the other half were still loaded up with eggs.

FYI guys, I hung out with my Corps buddy yesterday and he says they have closed the Blue Creek area for a few days for renovations. Hate to see someone drive all the way over there to find the gates locked.

Blue Creek's road was being fixed, but they told us it would be open by Friday morning. Didn't go check though.

Managed to get out and fish in the rain this evening by myself from 5:30 to dark. I fished 3 different brushpiles in 12 feet of water with minnows and put 18 good ones in the livewell. Most were 12 inches, I had one that was 15 inches. I wish I could have been out there earlier, I probably would have caught a limit.:)

went out yesterday AM and got 29 from 8-10AM all fish were 1- 2.5 feet deep. males and females .eggs were various stages of matupity.

Fished last Saturday and Sunday and had a blast. Saturday only fished 3 or 4 hours and we caught about 25 and Sunday we fished most of the day and kept 74. We were surprised after the front and the rain came through on Saturday that the fish would bite so good on Sunday. We caught fish all day long which is unusual. Normally around noon the bite gets slow until later in the day. We caught the crappie on brushpiles in 16 ft of water. The fish were suspended at around 8 ft early and moved deeper later in the day. The crappie wanted something moving and we caught them casting jigs most of the day. Just one of those days when jigs outperformed minnows. Sure was fun jigging and feeling that thump and catching 2 limits. My buddy caught one around 2.25 lbs and we had several other good fish and lost 2 big slabs.

Is there any good brush piles to fish on in the deep summer that I can access to with a 2 man boat with a trolling motor only from Talala Creek or any of the other ramps. I hear the Crappie can really bite when it gets hot outside at Oologah. I really want to take my wife and get into the Crappie big time. She hasnt experienced that yet.

CR - Do you mean fish with jigs while trolling? or anchor the boat and fish with down rods or with a cork? So if trolling, is it the weight of the jig that puts it deeper in the water? You don't have any other weight on it? I am assuming you have the jig tied directly to the end of the line. (No swivel?) It doesn't just lay on the top of the water as you troll?

Going to Oologah today and Saturday at Vada ramp. Thought we would try it. I heard it is going to be windy today though. We have an aluminum Pro Crappie 175 with 40 hp Mercury. We are still learning to drive the boat, so if we get in anyone's way....either video us, laugh at us, help us, or get out of our way! :D :D We won't hit your boat or anything.....we are just klutzes on the water. :D

Went out early yesterday morning to Spencer creek. The front hit about 9 am and the fishing got tough and contolling the boat got tougher. We quit at 11 am due to the wind. We managed to keep 21 nice fish, about half male and half female. Most females still had eggs. We caught the majority of our fish in 5-8 fow. We were using jigs with the best colors being blk/char and blk/pink. Had to fight 3-4 foot swales getting back to the ramp. Glad I decided to put in at Spencer instead of Sunnyside.

Fished Oologah today from 8 - 3. Tried a couple different spots with no luck before heading into Blue Creek. Tried fishing some of the standing timber for a couple of hours with no luck until I found 3 "magic" stumps in only about 1 - 2 fow. I caught fish no where else but these 3 stumps...not sure what was special about them. I was throwing a blk/chart beavertail jig about about 8" under a cork. Tried minnows, but the beavertail worked better. Caught several dinks but ended up with 12 keepers, most were good sized males with a couple of the biggest ones close to 2lbs.
