When you tie the loop knot in this I have it would cut into itself and break.
I bought some of the Vicious 1/4lb Hi Vis spools off of Monks 2 years ago and had the same problem. Knots busting too easily. I started using Hi Vis P-Line and Hi Vis Stren. The P-Line is good stuff. Playin' around with some yellow 15 lb Power Pro on a few reels this year. So far not bad. Just better have something to wrap around the line when you get hung up because it will eat into your finger and hands!

HI Don hope this finds you and your family doing good Maybe we will get to see you at the tournament. Iam going to try and fish it. Iam getting some tires for the boat too many miles kinda like me. Don on the Vicious We have it on all of our minnow rigs works fine with a snelled knot. On the Power Pro I hope it works bought a Bucks mini reel it doesnt weigh anything puttting that on a Pro Angler rod I bet the whole thing doesnt weigh a pound. Just looked at the card it came on it the weigh is 3 oz. We will try to post more often

Take a close look at Seaguar Line. If you look close, the diameter of the line is smaller for the weight class of other lines. Example: 9.2 lb. line is 0.008” diameter, 12.5 lb. line is 0.009” diameter.

The Seaguar Invis-X is their small diameter line. Their other lines (Abras-x and Red label) are very comparable to other flourocarbons, as far as diameter goes.

Thanks I will check them out. You start looking at lines, theirs alot out there. Kinda makes you want to pull your hair out. This all started with wanting to know what line to use while spider rigging. Still dont know. Thanks for the input.

Hey guys, I use Bass pro shops high vis yellow 10lb! It used to be Wally Marshall line! Be careful about using smaller diameter line in mono! It goes bad quicker than regular line does! Think about this I can guide 4 people spider rigging off my boat. That is 16 rods, the last thing I ever want to do is re-rig! I want something that I can get unhung, or straighten the hook out! As for Power pro I do not like the fact of how it wrapps around everything so quickly! If the wind is blowing its trouble! Not saying any of these lines are not good, there is a line for evary technique!

Spider-rigging: Bass pro shops high vis yellow or Viscious 10lb.

Vertical jigging: Deep over brush I use Power pro! Trolling huckabee style Silver thread 10lb!

Dippin shallow cover: Depends on the weight of the jig! 1/16th or 1/8th 6lb mono, either Silver thread or Stren magnathin! 5/32-3/16th 10lb Silverthread!

I have tried and tried Vicious. I'm getting ready to try the cheap Cabelas mono. It's a shame Berkley doesn't make XL in Hi-Vis. I love the stretch of mono and all these new lines are just to brittle for me. I keep a loose drag but still can't get along with anything so far.
