I run a 70hp superchip that adds 110ft/lbs of torque too. I get 17-19mpg depending on how I drive it while unloaded. FYI. when the tach gets over 2000rpm on mine the mpg starts dropping rapidly! I have a 745 war eagle and cant really tell the differnce in fuel mileage when towing it but it prolly weighs less than 4k. There are a lot of satisfied 7.3 owners and a lot of dissapointed 6.0 owners!
AMEN on the over 2 grand on the tach, I have had 3 of em and all 3 were and are the same way.

16 quarts! You do the change yurself? My Duramax 6.6 takes 10. I only avg. 12 mpg, but I'm usually runnin w/ tow/haul locked in pullin the fiver and boat. 2X on the expensive repairs tho. Had to have injectors replaced recently and it ran $4000 which really wasn't a bad deal for all eight from the quotes I got. That's why I drive this li'l puddle jumper for work Think I can fit this in the back of the duramax.

Been thinking about getting one myself. I need something that will haul up 4 horses, also haul hay during the winter, have a small tractor that I haul a couple of times a year. The 7.3 power strokes are nice and the 5.9 cummings are good too, haven't had any dealings with the duramax. Probably making my decision on what to get in the spring.
