Just an update on the knee replacement I had done on 5/19/15. I had suffered for years with arthritis of the left knee. It got to the point where I couldn't do anything I loved without a lot of pain, limping etc. I avoided lot of fishing, hiking, camping, and even simple things like shopping, because it was just too painful. I put off the replacement because I had a lot of fears and concerns, and because I am a chicken about surgery. Well, I finally got it done and for the first couple of weeks I thought I had made a big mistake. Then after a lot of therapy and work, into the third week it all started coming together. Now I couldn't be happier. It's like a miracle. People tell me that it takes about a year for it to feel as good as it will get. It's only been 10 weeks, and if it never got any better than it is now, I'd be happy.
Fortunately, I have good health insurance which made a big difference. And I understand the financial concerns. But if any of you are needing a knee replacement, but have been putting it off because of fear or what have you, I would say to you to get it done and get your life back.
