I'm not a marine biologist by no means but have any of ya'll ever fished a pond for crappie that doesn't get fished much? Man you can catch the fire out of them but the biggest ones will generally be around 8 or 9 inches long if that long. If they did restrict the number of poles on ky lake I'd be real worried that the single polers and two polers wouldn't be able to keep up with the growing population of crappies. I'm not saying that single polers and two polers catch less though.

if there is a limit on the number of fish you can take then it doesn't matter how many poles or hooks you have out. As long as you abide by the law when that limit is reached you stop fishing.

I don't spider rig and don't have any problem with those that do I can catch all I'm allowed with a single pole and like many have said I love that thump. I have been seeing a few guys spider rigging on Cave Run and from what I've seen it doesn't look like it works very well in the upper lake. I watched a guy about two weeks ago and it seemed like every time I looked he was hung up with all 8 poles bent over and snagged in the top of stumps it was a windy day and watching this guy made me glad I fishing with a single pole.

It definitely has it's drawbacks. It does keep the tackle companies in business, though.
