Welcome to all of you from Alabama.
I believe this is my first post. I'm sort of a newbie at crappie-a few springs and my first good fall, 2011. My agenda is to leave my native Pa. for a trip, probably down south for a week or so.
Hello all from Moore Oklahoma. Great board and seems like great people. Not new to crappie fishing but new to some of the methods on here, very interesting. I'm a die hard jig fisherman and haven't fished much with minnows or other artificials for crappie. Part of my youth was spent at my parents lake resort in Grove on Grand Lake. We had a heated fishing dock and a huge courtesy dock filled with structure and great crappie fishing. I "learned" to fish from a couple of elderly gentleman that made the daily trip from across the cove to fish our place, some great memories, thanks Les and Homer. Anyway, I love to river Catfish too but crappie fishing is my first love. I just need a boat now. Look forward to learning from all of the advice on here and putting some of it to use.
Bob
Excited to be here and looking forward to learn and meet new friends. I wwas fishing before I could walk and its one of my biggest motorvators in life. Of course my family is number one. I've always considered catfish as my prime fish to target, taking some really nice ones but since moving down south from michigan I've found myself addicted to the slabs. Looking forward to trying out the new spider rigging my wife and sons help me install.
Hello all, I am from South Louisiana and really enjoy crappie fishing. Just wanted to introduce myself, and learn a few things on here.
hello from NJ... got hooked on crappie fishing a few month's ago. looking foward to posting pic's and learning new method's to catching the slab's!
Hello slabbers! I just bought a home in Dry creek, La near longville where i grew up. Bundicks lake is right up the road from me and i was wondering if theres any crappie fisherman here that fish bundicks. I dont have a boat anymore but im working on getting a kayak. I hope to hear from someone soon.
Tight line,
Ben
I've been lurking here for a few months on and off and have already learned alot from what I've read here. As of today, I'm officially logged in. Not new to fishing, but I don't have alot of crappie fishing experience or experience with the use of sonar.
I got a "new to me" boat about a year ago with a used sonar unit (Lowrance X86) and have spent several days with my boys (6 and 9yrs old) and a few by myself out fishing. I live in southern Illinois and fish Crab Orchard Lake, Devil's Kitchen Lake, and Littly Grassy lake most of the time. I need to get up to Rend Lake once I get a better handle on the sonar. Really trying to play with and learn my sonar this spring- it's going to be a process but I'll get there.
Looking forward to many an hour on this site and many more hours spent on the water.

Wecome Dirt Dobber. Hope to fish with you soon.
New to the forum and hopefully, I'll learn something from all of the knowledgeable posters here. I'm out of Central PA but I like to fish Truman Res. in Mo.
Hey from Alabama. My brother lives near Catawisa PA.
That's about 100miles north of me. I'm down in York, PA. Your bro lives up by one of the premier lakes (Joseph Sayer Lake / Bald Eagle State Park). I do plan to fish it this year though pulling the boat 100miles is a bit of a PITA but from what I've heard, its worth the trip.
Thanks for the shout out! :)

Hi Everyone, I'm Jerry O'Connor (jeretired), originally from the Detroit area (Lake St Clair, Huron, Erie, etc...) where crappies are plentiful, and now live in Washington State...not very good for slabs, unfortunately. Now that I'm retired, I'm looking for productive crappie lakes in the Olympia area. I'm eager to participate in the forums and tap into the expertise of other members. As I discover new secrets here, I'll gladly share the same with other "newbies" as they join. Providing pics and all, I'm eager to participate.......
Thanks, jeretired

Hello from NC.
Attachment 83979O.K., My first post.....newbie here, but not new to:fish ing. Saw a pic of a feller named Roy on this site and saw his replica of his 17" crappie. I let this 17 1/2" go after I took a few photos cause I want a pond full of these in a few years. Kept a couple of 15's & 16's for some much desired fillets for the wife. I stocked a neighbors pond 12 years ago from a lake near Canton, TX. and this has to be the results of that stocking. Private ponds are great for growing your own. I have found that pond to be full of crappie of all sizes and feel it needs some thinning out. I stocked it with channel cats from my personal pond for their personal fishing and started feeding them floating fish food so I could tie flies to look like fish food so I could catch cats with my 3wt fly rod............it is a battle when you catch a 3 to 5 lb. channel cat on a fly rod. This has taught me how to fight the fight to land my fish. I have enjoyed reading many posts here, and enjoy the humor, info and insights. If anyone has a suggestion for a place here in Texas to have a replica made of a crappie, I would be interested to know about them. I'm not one for mounting much of what I shoot or catch, but this crappie is my personal best and I would like to see a replica on my fireplace mantle. At 69, I enjoy reminders once in a while. Oh! I've had my share of boats of all kinds, but now I'm just a kayak fisherman! The sandies are up in the creeks on Eagle Mountain Lake. Crappie are shallow and love "Bobby Garland's Electric Chicken"! I enjoy a good laugh and am apt to
tease once in a while too. Good Fishin' to all.
