Thread: my opinion of the onix

I did just in case. Just sent you a text to the phone number you had pm'd me. You can save all your settings to a SD card using the files icon on the bottom of the home screen. Then after you update you can upload them again and not have to worry about going through all of them. If you have problems with the update from the website let me know, I can email you the file. They were having problems with the first file. The unit will let you know really quick if the update fails.

Update on the onix 10.i still love this unit.even with the miner glitches,this is a great unit.this is what I've learned so far.first off deil11 needs to talk to humminbird about giving him a new unit.his unit is definitely defective. My unit doesnot have any noise coming from the control head.to make the unit boot faster,turn off the simulator. It will also shut down quicker.you can also use the standby button too.i found out today that my unit does have scrollback.as far as I can tell the scrollback works on 2d/si/and di.you can also turn the pinging off on si so that it stops the interference in di.you can turn off the pinging on di also,so you can view si without the interference from the di (this stops the washboard effect)deil11,posted that with hi unit he couldn't turn one off without all pinging stopping ,so I made suretthat I'm correct with this.it does work ,so I believe that deil11 has a defective unit.(even now with all that I've learned,so far I'm getting better results with si,but have not been able to get as good si on the onix as I can on my 998.the di on the onix is giving better results than ive seen from any unit)

Man I really appreciate you posting this. I just emailed the head engineer to see what the deal is. My first unit had v. 1.100 software, never saw one with 0.0.

Just to make sure, to turn off the sonar what I do is hit the upper right corner where the icons for the 360, sonar and i pilot link are. That opens up the menu and I hit sonar. From there I can see the sonar sources. I hit DI and all the way to the right it says on/off. I turn it off and when I go to the other tabs (SI, 2D) they are all turned off.

My simulator has been off all this time so that's not affecting the booting time.

How did the update on the 360 go?

Wow mine was built the day before yours and it had 1.100 then they sent me 1.120

Have you tried turning off the sonar on DI and see if it turns off the others also?

That I can't explain,but I wanted to post a picture showing the software version.all zeros does seem weird,but my unit unit works pretty good and I don't really won't an update for now . I'm a little leery about the 360 update.(deil11 I haven't got my 360 hooked yet.i need to order a 30ft. Ethernet cable . I'm going to hook strait to my 360 ,with no switch.i just tryed to order it from universal mainia,but for some reason it wont work.it saids I need a different mailing address.ive had several humminbird items sent here.now I can't. Go figger

I can't expain it,and your right all zeros seems weid.but my unit works pretty good
