Much rather look at a line color than I had a reel that the button didnt raise up high enuff to make the counter work.
PS, all the reels start with the same color line coming off, right now its blue.
What do you do when you don't get bit at those depths and start adjusting the depths looking for 'em. How do you remember what you got out then after the adjustments ??

I just remember I guess, I rarely, if ever lock in to one certain length of line out. All summer we been catching them with 30 foot out and 60 foot out at the same time. If I feel the need to target a certain depth I will run 200s on the outside poles so I can keep them longer, matter fact I will most likely start off with 200s on the outside in the morning just to run some bait shallower to see if it helps with the cooler temps, maybe even some baby arkies. I NEVER run 2 lines on the same side of the boat the same length, most of the time they will be 10 foot increments. This works well for me and is very simple which is always best for me!!!!!

Your way is fine if you have no friends. My buddies and I all spool the same so when sharing info we are all the same. Fill the spool up

I put 400' of braid on my reels after the backing. With planers, you have to free-spool lots of line out to clear the other boards when you catch a fish on the outside board.
We only sell the Best. Ranger, Xpress, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu.
