Trolling Motor Question
I am still running a cable drive trolling motor on the boat we primarily fish out of. Being that we do alot of different techniques we have stuck with the cable drive and it really suits our purposes well except for trolling, it is aggravating at times. I am considering a couple different options in the future, and wanted other peoples thoughts as to there experiences. I am considering getting a power drive or terrova motor for tightlining and trolling and keeping the cable drive to swap out for summertime brush pile fishing and jigging docks in the spring. I haven't experienced it but I believe a terrova motor or something similar would be aggravating jigging docks/brush, so I am thinking my best option may be to switch them out once we start jigging from the months of April-October (if this is not hard, I am not a mechanic). My next question is the foot control on the terrovas workable with a foot? Most people I see are still using hands to run them at times. Just wanting some opinions based on yall's experiences and thoughts. Also if buying a remote control motor what does everybody recommend as being the best for the money? I personally prefer a Minn Kota motor.
