"Saving all views at once" would be referring to HB recordings ...wherein during "playback" of that recording, you have the same access to all the views and settings to manipulate what the recording playback looks like ...
The only exception to this is the "Imaging Frequency" setting ... which will only record the 455kHz imaging frequency or the 800kHz imaging frequency setting (whichever you have the "Imaging Frequency" set to during the recording) ...

Snapshots are simply a screen capture of everything showing on the display when you press the "Mark" button (with "Screenshots" enabled under the Accessories tab in the Main Menu System) ...
There is no capability to manipulate or change the snapshot after capture ... The snapshot can be viewed on the unit in the "Snapshot and Recording" view ... Or transferred to your PC for viewing with most any picture viewing software ...

I think your present scenario of marking a waypoint at the console... viewing that waypoint on the bow unit as a green waypoint ... and then marking another waypoint with the bow unit is a good system for what you're using the units for ...
I would recommend "Exporting" your Nav data and running them thru HBPC occasionally is a good practice ... mainly to have a fairly "up-to-date" backup of your waypoints (in case either unit crashed or needs to be sent to HB) ...
You can view your waypoints in Google Earth right from the HBPC program to help identify where you were when you created that waypoint ...
Unfortunately ...editing waypoint data on the core units is not user friendly (tho it can be done thru the Waypoint Management menu under the Nav tab in the Main Menu System) ...
Creating a snapshot when you create a waypoint could be one way to help you keep up with what waypoint is marked where ... like you mentioned ...
I just keep notes in my phone for later use ... if I need to remember certain things about a waypoint ...
