    Default Sonarhub ?

After doing some reading, I'm led to believe that I can attach the sonarhub unit to my LSS2 transducer, and then to my 9 Touch unit, with the result being a chirp side scan and chirp downscan unit.
Leaving my sonar (2d) as is and not buying a chirp transducer, ie TM150.
    Is this correct?

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure this is just the 2d Brett...not the SI or DI...

    I'll do some more checking...

The new sonar hub does it all.

I agree the Sonar hub does it all...StructureScan HD and 2d CHIRP...

But I'm still thinkng the StructureScan HD in the Sonar Hub is the same tone pulse StructureScan HD sounder that's already in the Touch units and in the LSS 2 module...not SI/DI CHIRP...

    http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Produc...ule-en-us.aspx

So my understanding is the Sonar Hub can replace the LSS 2 module on Gen 2 (nonTouch) models ...and add 2d CHIRP...

And on the Touch units...it just adds CHIRP to the 2d ...

(I could be mis-reading the specs)...

It is a hub with 3 ports that has chirp. It adds chirp to the touch. yes.

I talked to Airmar. They said it helps with target seperation in shallow water.

I am currently using LSS1 as a 3 port hub only for the 2 touches and a gen1 hds. Just got another Touch, so I will ad the hub at a later date. I now have 4 hds on my pondtoon. Plus, I have 1 HDS 2d only unit to put somewhere. You will see it sooner or later.

Your cheapest option is the elite 7 chirp HDI. Or just wait a year and I bet all HDS graphs will have built in chirp.

This is the point I was hoping to convey to Brett's OP...

I think there is confusion that the Sonar Hub would give CHIRP SI/DI ...as well as CHIRP 2d...

My understanding is the SI and DI sounder in Sonar Hub is regular tone burst StructureScan HD...1 ping per duty cycle...

The 2d sounder in Sonar Hub is CHIRP...a band of pings per duty cycle...

    Thanks
    Amazing, I'm still confused.
So, the sonarhub doesn't magically give me brilliant chirp side and down images? (similar to the Garmin images I see on the websites)
I'm fine with my current 2d sonar.
I want a better downscan, and side scan. I want to see those fish under the docks.
I dont want to buy a chirp tm150 transducer.
If you add both, you've added 900.00 to your unit. Nuts.
