yep X3
Ramps are still closed and I’m going hunting again for 2 weeks. Just want to keep the leaves out of the boat. I will start fishing again when I get all finished hunting. We don’t buy meat in my household, I hunt and aquire meat that’s not pumped full of steroids.
Resent efforts

I know. It's kind of furry for a crappie :)
That is Friday afternoons pig a little over 300 lbs taken with a crossbow.
This is Saturday afternoons pig taken with my 270. Head shot so no tracking required.

Wrangler, if you run out of room in your freezers, we have a lot of space in ours, since the power went out while we were in St. Louis and we had a very smelly freezer when we got home.
Nice meat run Wrangler!

Thank you
The air pressure is so high here that water is running out the top of both my pressure gauges which would be pretty cool if it weren’t for all the swollen joints and pain. I’m going to have to take a pill so I’m not responsible for anything else I post tonight.
They call retirement the golden years but for me they are the arthritis years.
Sorry Arthur is bugging you.

Thanks Redge. I'm going to be driving back to deer camp in a few. I'll give you a call when I hit the road. It's only a 3 hour drive. That does sound a little like the Gilligan's island jingle just being a 3 hour cruise and they spent the rest of their lives stranded on an island which ended all their acting careers. I hope that's not prophetic. :)
Looks like 2 good pigs. DEAD pigs👍👍👍👍
Yesterdays efforts.
I guess the comment about the freezer going down was prophetic. I had to come back a day early because one of my freezers went down. Fortunately I didn't lose anything. I think I can repair it with a new relay but that thing is old enough that I am having trouble finding one and the only used appliance place in town has closed down.
I only have 4 animals left to process. It has been a good year. My hunting buddy groveled until I gave him the last pig I shot. I am kind of getting the hang of this pig hunting stuff. All you need is a bunch of corn at 5 locations and 25,000 game camera pics to look at and they pattern pretty easily :) .
Hope I didn't put the hoodoo on you, Wrangler.
I had 18 pounds of deer grind thaw out so I had to cook it. What can be done with 18 pounds?

20 qt Dutch oven just perfect for making 5 gallons of venison chili.

I will put in 1 qt freezer containers for future consumption.
1 of 4 hams I’m going to cure. I still have 2 left that I am thinking of making sausage with. This ham weighs 17 lbs.

I don’t think i will ever bring 4 animals home to process at the same time again
I’m getting anxious to finish with all this meat so I can go fishing. My land sickness symptoms are getting stronger every day. :).
Hope you get to go soon!

Still processing.

The various link sausages are slow and tedious to make but results are nice. Only 45 pounds left to process then a couple of days of rest.
Finely finished.

Nice!! I see you use natural casings on the big links.
You make any breakfast links?
Sent from my iPhone using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
You could say yes but that is because the garlic and pepper links I eat for breakfast along with eating them as hot dogs and chili.
I dont know know what I was thinking when I was hunting. I have more meat than I can eat in 3 years. I have 2 other freezers not pictured full of game.
I need to stop hunting for for a while.
I made several different kinds of links but I like bratwurst and polish and smoked sausage. They are good but take a lot of time and effort to make.
My father-in-law used an old wooden ice chest from the 1800's to smoke all of his stuff. I really miss him and all of the meat that he smoked, particularly the garlic sausage. He was a sergeant with the marines when WWII started. 98 of the 100 guys he went in with died. Then a drunk driver killed him on Christmas Eve when he was 40. Sorry about the downer message, but the picture of the sausage triggered some strong memories of a great man who died before his time.
The land sickness symptoms are getting stronger so I’m going to have to do something about it tomorrow or start taking antidepressants.
Definitely time for you to get on the water!!
I really enjoy your posts.
Carry on.

It was a short fishing trip today. We left the ramp at 11:30 and was back by 4:30. We only caught 19 crappie but we considered it a successful trip as we had not been on the water in several weeks. I took my buddy Jess who fishes with me often. Jess has a cancer between his eyes and is scheduled to have it removed Wednesday morning. The cancer is already affecting his vision and to say he is concerned would be an understatement. For any that pray he would greatly appreciate prayers on his behalf.
Praying right now, for Jess and and for the doctors' skill. Keep us posted on his progress, wrangler.
