Is it better early and late, at night or does it vary? How deep are you fishing? Is anyone catching crappie off the rocks around the Marina area or only in the dock? Thanks and continued success.

    r7hunter,

Usually, early and late are better off the rocks at 1-4 feet; and the rest of the day, the dock seems to be better at 12-14 feet. Night fishing is better off the rocks. Minnows have worked well off the dock and off the rocks, although jigs produce faster off the rocks. If one color jig is not working, switch colors. Hair jigs have been really good for us. Blue/white, brown/orange, blue/pink, orange/yellow/chartreuse, yellow/green/chartreuse, and orange/white/white w/silver wrap have all been good lately. As noted above, the saugeyes seem to chase off the crappie, and that can happen at any time of the day. Just move to a different area for awhile if that happens.
    Good luck.

That is special when someone shares so much detail and specifics. I've had to move away from my NE Oklahoma "Green Country" creeks. I had 5 lakes to fish multiple creeks for spawners within 40 minutes of home. This should help me acquire some fillets. Thanks again.

Went Sat and Mon mornings. Scratched out 14 and 8, and lost a really big saugeye. Real slow except for one guy that had them dialed in with one jig.

Glad you got some, serious. We've been up there in the evenings three times lately. Minnows and jigs both working, and we've gotten 25-35 each time. Last night, I got 25 in maybe an hour; then, I lost a saugeye that was probably 4 1/2 #s. No crappie for the next hour, so I moved over to the bay and got 5 more crappie and two small saugeyes. Carp were everywhere. Best jig has been an orange head/chartreuse crystal chenille/yellow hair tail w/chartreuse flashabou.

Were you fishing off the dock to start?

Got some runoff finally. Lake is now 4.95' below spillway. Hasn't been under 5' in years. Sky, I may try to get out there this weekend. Call me if you go.

Yes. Then fished the rocks, then moved to the bay. Did best off the rocks, until the saugeyes moved in. Swollencrappie was there too, and he was smacking them good, as usual.

Made it out Friday. Didn't get many crappie, but got a bass, missed a big saugeye, and did an early release on a crappie that was probably 15 inches. The females were up to just under 13 inches and still had their eggs.
