Fished LCB fish house yesterday for a couple hours and did so so on ice jigs fishing inside fish house about 12" off of bottom. The bite was lite and sometimes didnt know i had a fish until i went to jig ut and felt the added weight. No ice at all..roads were horrible yesterday but everything cleared up today with the warmer weather. Tried some hair jigs...BG jigs...Mikes Custom baits and nothing did as well as the small ice jigs but.......with the smaller jigs came a lot of smaller fish. Out if 30 fish only had 10 keepers. Was still fun but would rather have a fish i could keep instead of a small fish i had to throw back. Lost 3 good fish as i lifted them out of water to swing over railing....small jigs small hooks...will have net next time. Plan on hitting early in the AM and see if the fish are hungry.

Thanks Swollen. I decided to take advantage of the pretty weather and Reapers generosity with his time and repair talents rather than make the trip to CB. Did you do any good?

Withdrawal symptoms after a month without fishing forced me to hit CB this afternoon at a little after 1400, in spite of possible freezing rain. Only four other guys. One guy had a few fish in the bucket, but only got three while I was there. One guy left with zero, one with three, and a minnow fisherman got four. A chartreuse head/black body/chartreuse over white hair jig got 9 of the 14 fish I caught, and Frank's micro blue/pink got three. They were bigger this time, with a 12 1/4 the biggest. Only two smaller ones.
When the minnow guy got a call that freezing rain had hit Tulsa, we decided to boogie. It misty rained on the way to OKC, but the roads held up. Probably going to be slick in the morning.

Son-in-law (Kris) and I fished 10:00-3:30. Lots of people, since it was a beautiful day. Nearly everyone got fish, but no limits. Kris got 16, all on a new jig that has no body, just a lot of holographic mylar, and on a Cajun Cricket. My day was pretty bad, 4 keepers out of 8 fish, while missing about twenty bumps. Frank's micro DID get a 3 inch crappie (smallest ever). The holographic and the black/chartreuse got four fish. Fished the last 15 minutes with an all-white jig with silver wrap, getting seven bumps and 3 fish. Lots of nice people to visit with.

About 12 people out today. Everybody got fish. Several people using a combo of a minnow and a red/chartreuse jig. Both worked well. I kept a limit of 10 1/2 - 12 1/4 inchers out of 58 fish (made up for Saturday). The white jig w/ silver wrap did best. Then the slab slayer Cajun Cricket and the holographic mylar.
btw, Allen from Hennessey said that Page is in the hospital with leukemia and pneumonia. Prayers would be good.

Finally figured out how to load a picture (I think). These are the ones Smiley Jo and I kept Saturday Got fish on several jigs. A Thumpit stinger in blue/white on a slow upward retrieve did best.

Caught 'em on blue/white and brown/orange. Kept 19 good ones and one small channel cat. Had to add a picture (from two years ago) of grandson Landon with his big channel that his Grandpa didn't even think of to get officially weighed as a lake and state record. He couldn't even lift it out of the sink.

Windy afternoon at Carl Blackwell. Got 21 fish between 10 1/2 and 11 inches (cookie cutter males), 1 11 3/4 female, and 7 about 9 inches. Nursery jig and brown/orange did the trick. Other guys said they have been catching them off the rocks pretty well at night, but they weren't getting them this afternoon.

Made two trips to CB this weekend, totaling 48 fish up to 12 inches. Nearly all of them came on the two jigs in the thread "Hot colors". Other colors got zero, one, or two. Fish were in the dock and on the riprap. If we ever get three nice days, they will most likely all be on the riprap (fat chance, looking at weather.com). Did get a 4.5# hybrid and had a nice saugeye cut my line.
Other jig guys not doing well at all, except for the guys wading out and dipping in the trees at the back of the bay. Minnow guys were getting crappie in the dock, as well as crappie and small bass on the riprap.
