I went out today, got there about 11:30 and fished til 4:00. Thanks to Odie's info, I finally was able to land some. Caught about 12, some dinks but kept 5 with 2 nice fish. They were in 25 fow and just off the bottom at redbud and hit Bobby Garland electric chicken. I tried some other colors and different depths, but they weren't interested. Thanks Odie for all your good advice.

Glad you caught some Sparky. It has slowed the last week to 10 days, for us. I am going out tomorrow if the wind cooperates. I am going to some of the places we been catching them this winter and if they don't cooperate I am going exploring in new territory.

Got out today at 9am and fished until 130pm. We fished 4 different brushpiles and tried the rip rap at Winganon. It was slow for us all day. We kept 15 over 10 inches and caught that many throwbacks. Our biggest fish was 12 inches. We tried from 16-25 FOW. The locator seemed to show shad and fish every place we tried but they just wouldn't bite. Next time I go out I am going to try brush further up the creeks. We have been fishing main lake brush piles and brush at the mouths of the creeks all winter and having good success. But the the last 3 times out it has been slow. Best color for us is still blue/white. The water is certainly more stained up by the bridge. We talked to another boat up at Winganon, they started at daylight and at 130pm they had 3 fish.

Last Cpl of weekends not much to report except like everyone else fished pretty hard and just cpl of Keepers Each trip. Water Temp is down now to the lower to mid 40's by my equiptment.Lake is in Excellent shape level wise only bout 6 inches below norm according to the Corp page. Ramps are WAY better now. The Weather patterns with weekly cool-cold front along the end of the week switching the winds from S-N i think is the Factor. Just my humble opinion. The oustside temp has been GREAT for Dec-Jan 40s 50s and 60s with cpl of 70s thrown in. Changed up a litt last Friday Went to nabatak and got small minnows (seemed to help some) Fished Spencer Creek along the big bluff at the mouth in the afternoon. Slow trollin lookin for structure. Marked a cpl of likeky lookin spots. Along about 4:30 ish (not exactly sure of the time but more toword sundown) Fish Moved in on one of the dropoffs i had marked it was in 12-18 fow and for about 10-15 min action was hot and heavy boated like a dozen keepers 10" and over. I Stuck with minnows but my bud caught just as many as i did on a green and white BG baby shad with a white head.
No really big fish, biggest prob 13". Fish were really pale like they had been deep and just moved in to feed for a few. then it was slow till dark with an occasional fish ended up cleanin 15.

Did you talk to two guys in a blue bass tracker just before you started sacking em? We ended up cleaning 10 with two 12 inch. Threw back about that many but never felt a bump after 10:30 or so.highlight of the day was when I threw one at the live well and hit my buddy in the side of his face, knocking off his hat and glasses in the process! It was worth the trip to laugh that hard. He ventured the opinion that the area south of the steering wheel is now a hard hat area. I fished the rest of the day with one eye on him.imagine he will get even.

Yea I did I was the fat boy in the back it was my partners turn up front. Nice to meet ya. We fished Hawthorn on Sat and Caught 9 Keepers early then about 10 or so they locked us without another bite was in 15-18 FOW. Pretty windy early on

I live in Collinsville and have never fished Oologah, any pointers on where to go to catch some Crappie? Any area done on the south end worth trying or is all the action up by Spencer, Blue Creek, Talala Cree, and the bridge?

If you have a boat with GPS Capable Electronics on it then its simple. Google "Oologah brush pile" with out the quotes. That will link you to all the Corp brush piles put out in the last several years. Without gps simply print the picture map. It makes it harder but the pic will show the piles too. If you have no boat there are several options. the 2nd cove up from the hawthorn boat launch has a really nice dock loaded with brush. A Little further "For you" is Spencer creek that has a low bluff with brush all along the bluff. Its accross from the swiming beach. I have never done it but people regularly catch crappie below the dam. I dont know how thats been this year as its been dry and very little water release might effect that. In summary if you have a good locator any structure 15+ Water has produced for me this winter If you get there early in the AM and late in the PM. I havent had much luck past 10-10:30 AM and 4 pm till dark but thats just me Im Kinda a slow learner lol. I have been at it long enough to know that just because i havent dont mean it aint so for sure!! hope that helps
