Best crappie fishing day Ive ever had.

Went out on Oologah Saturday and had the best day ever. Non stop all day, limited out easily and then catch and release the rest of the day. Fishing in 20 ft water, no structure other than a small drop off, drop jig to bottom and slowly reeled in very slowly. Very few times did I make it to the surface with the jig with out a crappie. Once I found them I never moved. Caught a bunch under 10 inches. Kept 37 ten inches or better. Best colors were cajin crawdad baby shad and pink tail, black headed tube jig. I was not the only one that did well. There was a gentlemen that was loading up in front of me and he had a stringer that he could barely lift up to his tail gate on his pick up.

It was the Talala creek area. Had to work to find them though. My usual places either had boats on it or just couldn't locate them in my usual areas. I just happen on this spot. I marked fish on the locator and thru out markers on each side of the mass and anchored between the markers. Unbelievable results. I got lucky cause I'm not good.

Ya, I didn't have much time Saturday evening but I went out for about an hour in the evening and fished some of my summertime piles. It was very slow. I didn't expect much, I haven't been out in 3 months or more. Hunting season gets in the way.

Fixing to head out to see if they are biting in this cold. But first I got to stop off at my favorite bait shop.
