Yeah slab daddy I've been on them pretty hard for the past month or so. I've been getting out around 2-3 days during th week. Here's the kicker, I haven't been able to get out until the around 3:30p and fishing until 7:30p. Yeah baby! Now you wanna talk about hot. I'm sweating now thinking about it. Jig fishing is the only way I fish and it's been on fire. I've been throwing a pumpkin seed bobby garland stroller. Catching majority of my fish around 8-12ft deep. Went out 8/1 around 4:45 and fished until 7:30 and caught 17 nice fish. I threw back probably double that. Summer fishing is usually one of my favorite times of year to fish due to a few reasons, but this year it's been tough even for a fishing-junkie like myself with this incredible heat. Here is a pic of the 8/1 catch. Sorry I was too lazy to take them out of the basket.

This is the 1st brush pile listed for 2010 that was put in last year. The first number on the lowrance units is for North and the 2nd number refers to West. The numbers you have there don't look right to me. I glanced back through the years on the corp site and they don't always put the North number first, I think it always starts with a 3 and the west number always starts with a 9. Also you will need to set your unit to show a all "degrees format". I am not familiar with the humingbird.

Find someone with a hummingbird and ask them to transfer their waypoints to your locator. That's the easiest way.

Well, I finally took a break from catfishing and got back out to do some crappie fishing last night. A buddy and I fished from 7:00pm to dark and cleaned 40. No really big ones but good fish. We hit brush with minnows in 15 feet of water.

Went out Saturday with some friends from 6:00 to 10:00. We had a great time and brought home 32 keepers. We had several nice fish and we lost a few right at the boat. We caught them the same way we have all summer, fishing brush piles in 15 - 16ft. Caught some early on jigs, but not as many as last week. Didn't do real good drop shotting today, the crappie were holding tight to the brush and tight lining straight down was the best method. My friends Linda and Gary caught the biggest fish and tipped their minnows with crappie nibbles. Only saw 2 other boats on the water this morning. I guess the heat has everybody holed up under the AC. Here is picture of the bigger fish Linda and Gary caught.

Nice, the worst part about catching them is this heat is cleaning them after you get home.

Me and a buddy went out at day break and fished brush piles in 15 FOW. Caught over 50 and kept 23 good sized fish. A few were over 12 inches. Fish started biting when the wind picked up. All fish caught on minnows. Not to be negative, but there are a few people who need to be taught some simple boating and fishing manners. There are a few out there that get angry when they're beat to a hot fishing spot and decide to make large wakes or speed too close. As much as it may suck to miss out on a good spot, I could never do something so selfish. It's getting way to common. My belief is this: If you really want to fish a particular spot on the lake, get your a$$ up early enough to get there first.

Crappie Hog, how do you know they were upset about loosing a spot? Did they tell you? I have people get too close to me all the time. I just figured they were jerks with no boat etiquette.

A buddy and I fished Saturday morning and took home 53 over 10 inches. Fishing the same as everyone else.

    Meat Dragger,

I've been around long enough to know when someone's pissed that they were beaten to a spot. And yes I have heard a few comments made. They may not intended for me to hear them.
