Fished brush piles on Tuesday the 21st from 7am to 3pm with minnows. Caught most of the fish about 2 to 3 feet from the bottom around brush in 14 to 20 fow. Didn't catch much from the deeper ones.
Thanks guys,
Their bellies were so full of shad they looked like they were full of eggs and getting ready to spawn. The bite was soft most of the time, not that solid thump that I like, may have been due to falling water levels.
Its easy right now to catch all you want should get better with the cooling temps like you say Kenny when deer season comes around that is when it gets really good
Well, I received my order of baits from Crazy Angler. I added some more "Sour Grapes" to my collection as well as some "Black Gums". I'm planning on trying them out again at Oologah tomorrow, hopefully the bite will be on. Looks like they've been dropping the water fast and now it's on the way back up again.
My fishin partner and I had a good time catchin some Oologah slabs today. The wind was out of the east so we didn't expect to do real well but we caught some fish. We saw some huge schools of shad swim by the boat today and the sea gulls were everywhere too. The bite was off and on today with a few times during the day when it was hot and heavy. We ended the day with 44 keepers over 10 inches and a few over 14 inches. We were fishing brush piles in 15 to 17fow. Jigs worked real good early and minnows did better later in the day. We found one area of one brush pile about the size of a dining room table that we caught 25 of the keepers out of. Bobby Garland's baby shad in licorice with a pink 1/16oz head was the best jig combo. We caught some on Yum Beaver tails in black and chartreuse too.

We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing."
