My fishin partner and I had a good time catchin some Oologah slabs today. The wind was out of the east so we didn't expect to do real well but we caught some fish. We saw some huge schools of shad swim by the boat today and the sea gulls were everywhere too. The bite was off and on today with a few times during the day when it was hot and heavy. We ended the day with 44 keepers over 10 inches and a few over 14 inches. We were fishing brush piles in 15 to 17fow. Jigs worked real good early and minnows did better later in the day. We found one area of one brush pile about the size of a dining room table that we caught 25 of the keepers out of. Bobby Garland's baby shad in licorice with a pink 1/16oz head was the best jig combo. We caught some on Yum Beaver tails in black and chartreuse too.
