I made it out again Saturday and fished from noon to 7 with a buddy. Tried to meet up with Coyote but missed him. I fished brush in 12 foot of water with minnows and ended the day with 46 keepers. Had a family fish fry last night and everybody loved it.

While fishing in the blue creek area yesterday evening I noticed oil and gas bubbles surfacing in various areas. Once the bubbles surfaced, it left a small oil slick. When I was cleaning my catch yesterday I could swear that the fish had an oil like coating on them. I sure hope no one dumped a barrel in the water.

Crappie Hog, if you read the lake management plan for Oologah on the Department of Wildlife website you will see there is a section about threats to the fishery. One of the biggest is an abandoned oil field on the north end of the lake that has improperly capped wells that release oil from time to time. I'm not sure if that is what you saw. It may be exactly what you hoped it wasn't, a dumped barrel. I would definately call the Corps office and report it.

Fished Saturday with a couple of friends from 6:00 to 10:00. We caught 10 keepers and 20 throwbacks. Crappie bit good early in the morning but slowed way down after about an hour and half. Not sure why the fish weren't biting better. Guess it's just the last Dog Days of Summer and everything is wore out from the heat. It wasn't the best fishing day ever, but we had a good time and were lucky enough to bring home enough for a good supper. I'm sure the bite will improve when Fall gets here.

Ran into Meatdragger yesterday at the Big O and he had a good mess of crappie. It was a real pleasure to finally meet him. I was juggin for blues and did not do all that good. The bite has been getting slower the last couple of weeks for both cats and crappie, at least for me anyway.

Fished sat
Tried to get out early sat. Had a flat on the trailer in front of walmart in tulsa, (thank you Jesus) the only place to get a mounted boat trailer tire at 6 am. Only fished for 4 hours because of the late start. Caught 20 or so fishing brush at 25 feet and standing timber. Caught a lot of small ones, only kept 7.

I made it out Saturday morning. A buddy and I fished from 7 to noon. As Kenny stated, we ran into him on the water and visited a bit. It is always nice to run into guys from the website. We fished with minnows in brush in 10 to 15 foot of water and did ok, it wasn't as fast as it has been but still worth going. I lost count of how many we cleaned but I can tell you we had 12 pounds of fillets when it was over. I think it was probably around 50 fish or so. I'm headed to western oklahamo tomorrow for my antelope hunt so I won't be back on the lake for a week or so. Good luck everyone, and get out to the brushpile day!

Has anyone been out since the cool front? Plan on going Thur. and wondering about what depth would be best to fish?
EB said the fish had moved because of cool wheather on Eufulah but did not say where he found them.
Thanks

I was out fishing Oolagah last sat. on the 3rd. We hammer the crappie from 730 to 1pm. I bought 3 lbs of minnow from the (tacomart) gas station just cross the dam. I estimate, we only had 1/2 lb minnow left. My brother-in-law and I cleaned 35 really good one's and threw back the rest of course for another day..

Thanks for the report Jason. If the cooler weather sticks around, look for the Crappie to start moving into their fall patterns. The fishing on Oologah has been extremely good for the entire year going back to last fall. The fish seem to be bigger on average and the numbers have been better as well. If this winter is anything like last winter, the great fishing will continue. I can't think of a better place close to me to catch a livewell full. I'm so glad I live near the lake.
