Its came up from 580.49 to 580.81 in the last few days...not much but atleast some new water. Before the big rain down on the Crowder area the water clarity was about 8" and was perfect for the southern end of Eufaula, and the clarity on the north end was 3". These numbers are the latest from the Corps website.......Ranger

Well the weaterman in my phone lied to me about the wind today. He or she said 7mph from the south then changing to the west then to the north later in the evening all at or below 7mph..I fought the white caps til my bilge pump almost wore out..LOL.. more like I got tired of fighting the wind and waves on the north end today and only had 9 good fish before leaving. Turned them lose to fight another day. Baits were pumkin/chart Beavers and 3" Slab Slayers in the same color and lime/chart Wollybees. WT was 72 degrees and the fish were in shallow wood and rocks all coming from 9' and closer to the bank.....Ranger
I hear of good crappie being caught in the docks near Texanna. Can anyone confirm?
Talked to EB couple of days ago and he tols me that was happening. So I guess tou heard right.....Ranger

The big E is quiet right now! Been getting some reports here and there, but the lake really needs to come back up! It fishes really good when its 2ft below to 3-4 ft above normal! EB
Jeff, Johnny, and I decided that way up the creek was the only place that we could go and fish today! It took us a few hours to find some fish but ended up catching 14 today. The biggest were 1.50! We found them on isolated structure in 3-6 fow. We were flipping 1/8 th ounce crappie pro heads with black and chart beaver tails and minnow mindrs! It wasn't bad for 40 mph wind gust! EB

any way a guy could catch some skip jack below the dam this time of year?i never fished there before or for skips and just was wondering?..

You can catch some really nice size skip jacks below the low water dam in Tulsa. Fish for them the same as you would crappie. I call them baby tarpons. They put up a serious fight. I typically fish for them to use as striper bait.
Boon, idk if you can catch any down there this time of year! But I can tell you how, throw two crappie jigs out from the bank let them sink maybe 3 ft then pop them and reel as fast as you can back. If they are there they will jump on those jigs! EB
I was able to get out on the north end of the lake for a couple of hours before dark yesterday. Fished probably 6 brush piles in 8-20ft. Ended up catching 12 fish 3 nice ones the biggest was a 1.4lb. EB
Good report EB, what were they biting on?
Redge we were using minnow mindrs! We got out today around 3:30 and fished till dark. We ended up keeping 9 out of Vrush in 8-12 ft. We had two fish that were 1.75 one black and one white. EB

Yes and no. We do fish them vertical longlining,dipping,swimming, and cast and dragging. As you see they work in several different techniques. Hope this helps.....Ranger
Well I found some fish biting at night with a jig and a cork, 1-2ft deep ;) This is my favorite way to catch them! EB
Fished the north end this morning and was able to keep 21 really nice fish with the biggest two going 2.2 and 1.14. Had 13 short fish as well. When the wind got up and blowing hard they got the lock jaw and only got one bite in the last hour I fished. Baits were blk/chart wollybee and pumkin/chart slab slayer. DOW was 8' to 14' and in brush. Method was longpoling vertical baits. WT was 55.3....Ranger
Fishing the local dock here at Arrowhead, I caught 9 crappie Saturday afternoon on both jigs and minnows. First hour they only hit jigs, wouldn't touch the minnows. Later it reversed, they would take a minnow and ignore the jigs. They were only biting 3-5 feet below the surface and it was always a light bite. This was right before the front came rolling in from the north with colder weather. Sunday, after the front hit, they got lockjaw and that was all the fishing I got done over the weekend. It was refreshing to catch a few, sure a lot better than what I have been doing. Seems they may be picking up. Good luck to all and keep your powder dry.
We have been cathing some fish on the north end from brush in 10-14ft with jigs. I have also heard good reports from the marinas people are catching some decent numbers but you have to be there at the right time! EB
Catching a few on the local dock here in Arrowhead Estates by the boat ramp. Best biting is right after sun up and about an hour before dark using either minnows or jigs. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and best of luck catching crappie.

Well I got to get out for a couple of hours yesterday evening on the north end. Got back to some of my old techniques fishing, I was spider rigging minnows over channel edges 20 ft deep over 20-30 fow. I ended up catching one crappie and one catfish. Bot were potbellys full of shad! So its looking up I didnt get skunked this time ;)
I thought I might post a report for Eufaula, there is fish being caught on the south end of the lake. The temps are ranging from 48-55 degrees. So the fish are in transtion from there winter spots to there spring migrations. I would suggest a form of trolling to find them, spider irigging or double dippin. You might caught them on breaklines or out over the channel. Finding the shad really helps. The lake is 4.8 below normal but could change any day. Most parts of the lake are ok to navigate and few dangerous areas come to mind. Between I-40 and 150 bridges. Oakridge 9A bridge to Arrowhead. BEware of the old highway that runs threw the lake it visible cant miss that, and the mouth of the creeks are very very shallow so take your time. The fishing will be picking up this time of year it always does. The last 3 trips on Eufaula I have caight very nice fish! I hope this helps everyone? EB
