I'll be out there tomorrow on the north side, will post results

Water temp today started off around 53.5 or so at noon, had dropped down to around 52.8 by 6ish best I can remember. I was seeing some 58-59 earlier in the week, but I figure it will drop even more through the weekend.

Hello everyone, new guy here, names Kenny. Been crappie fishing since I moved here in 03, mainly on the south end of Eufaula. Usually go bank fishing, just like the ease of it, but we do get the pontoons out once in awhile. Caught the one below this past Wednesday in about 2 feet of water. One of two we caught that day. Typically use a black and chartreuse roadrunner on a slip cork. Going to go out again after bit and see if they have moved up to the bank a little more. http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a...psdab9e6cf.jpg

Anyone fishing or having any luck at Oakridge at US 69 & Ok 9A area? To me from looking at map the area west of US 69 looks good and the creek to the south looks good. Have Navionics to follow the channels with, anything I should watch out for?
-
Haven't heard any reports from that area, be very careful coming out of the oak ridge area there are some very shallow spots still! The creek west of the bridge is called sand creek it usaully is really good when the water is normal and April is the best month for it! Good luck EB
-
Had a pretty good week in the Gentry Creek area caught 141 for the week foot and half to three ft o water blk/pnk and minnows, all nice fish 11 to 14 3/4 in.
-
Clifft that's awesome I been waiting to hear a good report from the north end! EB
-
EB I should mention I caught the majority between 6pm and 9pm,by the way my boys said they visited with u at crowder this week enjoyed the visit.

Fished Sat. Caught a bunch kept 25 biggest. A lot of big ones along with this big Ol slab. Jigs and minnows again. 12 FOW. water was down to 49.5. Fish were slower but still very willing to thump it. Didnt see as many as last time on the finder, seems as though they moved out from where I had been fishing. So went closer to the deeper water and found them. Attachment 120121

Had a couple hours to kill today so I run over to try the I-40 bridge. There was not a soul over there and I soon figured out why!!! I couldn't find and baitfish or fish on the hds 8??? Guess I'll head down to crowder area in the morning for a bit.

Anyone been out this week? Going tomorrow and was curious what this cooler weather did to them.

Re: Eufaula report
A buddy of mine and his friend went Monday fished northern parts of the lake n got skunked
-
Went on the south end today around 3:30 till dark and kept 39! No monsters but good keepers! Fish were in 10-12 fow! Moved back out a little deeper! Water temps were 51-53! EB
-
Brian, the best I can tell they're still hanging out in deeper water. Haven't seen them getting up on the bank (shallow water) yet, but that can happen anytime now. I caught 3 real nice crappie on the dock here in Arrowhead, but when they're in their regular pattern and coming in to spawn, I would have caught 20 crappie in that 2 hour period instead of 3. I'm doing a 12-hour shift tomorrow at the hospital and will be too tired to fish tomorrow night, but you can bet I'll be getting with them Saturday morning.
-
Went this evening for 3 hours and had 12 keepers! Had one that weighed 1.85 and another 2.05lbs. 10 ft of water line and chart was the hit color. EB

Was able to fish for a few hours today getting on the water at 11:30am and loading at 2:30pm...Had 23 keepers caught double dippin or as I say doin the Water Turkey Technique. Fish were still pushed off the banks and in 11' to 13' DOW fishing 10' deep. All but 2 of my fish came off the bottom jig so they are holding right off the bottom, and pumk/chart was the color for me. Anywhere you can find a little depression or ditch in that depth of water you can get hammered again and again. It doesn't have to be much of a ditch either no more than 1' will work magic. WT was 56 when I got there and with sunshine but the clouds took over pretty quick and the WT fell really fast and got down to 53.8 when I left. I did catch my first female of the season that was spewing eggs when I lifted her into the boat......Ranger

Kept 30 good ones yesterday. Water was 56 at 1 pm and 59 at 7. Fished 10' deep in about 15.5 FOW. Used jigs and minnows. Jigs out fished the minnows. No super big fish but about half of the fish were 12"-14". I think its prob the biggest bag of crappie fillets I have ever brought home.

Fished between showeres yesterday with Kyle and have a great day of fishing. We kept 39 keepers and caught probably around 60 to 70 total. Found some water in 60's later in the day but on an average the WT was in the upper 50's. Technique was double dippin and it didn't matter what color you used. The bite was somewhat off from the day before and of all the crappie I cleaned all had empty belly's....RaAttachment 120735nger

Headed out tomorrow.....feelin sick so work can wait....What is the good news?????
-
Brian, I've not been out in a couple days, but my dad fished today and said he caught several in 3 ft of water. So I'd say be sure to check different depths and don't be afraid to fish the banks some. Good luck and give us a report!!!
-
Bowman, probably headed to Crowder in am Gonna have my dad and son....be a good trip even if no fish Thanks for the info...will let you know how it goes

Fished with Ralph Sr and Susan Pearce today and what a beautiful day. After the rain over the weekend the lake has risen a few inches and trash on the water. We started catching fish early along the break lines in 9' to 12' DOW. As the water warmed they moved up to 6' to 7' DOW. Another thing the rain has done is muddied up the water some also. The bigger fish eluded us today and for that reason I will be doing alot of looking in the next few days for fish I do not have to compete against for the upcoming Tournament....Ranger

Eufaula 3-30-13
Sorry for the late report. I took a couple of buddies to Eufaula Saturday and the fishing was good, not great. We fished from 10-7 and kept 50, we probably caught 100. The size was a little off but I did manage to catch one that weighed 2.30. We had 5-6 that weighed 1 1/2 and the rest were just keepers. We fished jigs in 8-12 fow, color didn't seem to matter.

Had a really good day along with the weekend was excellent. Overall, caught around 100 and ended up with about 40 nice keepers, biggest two were each around 1.75 to 2.00 pounds. All the females are full of eggs and seems like each day, they're getting a little closer to the shoreline. This is the time of the year I really get excited about the spawn and all the fun ahead. I want to encourage everyone to get in there and do some fishing, take some kids, take grandpa and grandma, they'll have a great time. Water temp this morning was around 56 and warmed up today to 60. Water is murky and I caught the largest part on minnows, but did have a lot of luck with the wassits, (or whatever those damned things are called) pumpkin and chartuese. Good luck!rotfl

Thanks Mark. The parents had a blast

We had a great day and the fishing was just ok......kept 21 biggest went 1.4 Had 3 generations with dad and son I love the thump but ut being with dad and son was even better
-
We got washed out at wister sunday so we decided to go to to rock creek at Eufaula. Fished 1-7pm and had 24 keepers biggest was 2lbs-bite with half of those being good ones but nothing like the day before.
That being said it looks like its going to be a good year down at the big E.
-
Thinking of making the drive to hickory point Thursday or Friday, anyone fished down that way recently? What's some opinions on what this rain will do to the creek fishing down there? Worth the drive or not???
-
I have heard it was pretty muddy with about 1" visibilty..don't know about you, but I like a few more inches visibilty than that....not worth your gas or my diesel as I see it...just an honest opinion.....Ranger
-
We fished from 4:00-dark yesterday and had 24 keepers, no real monsters. We caught them with a jig and cork 16 inches deep. Water temp was 58, but im sure its not now. Old man winter just won't let spring get here! EB
