I tried pulling jigs on Oologah Saturday morning. Ended up with 20 brush piles and 0 fish. LOL I've got to figure this method of fishing out.
I have pulled them up there and had some luck but I find best times to pull jigs overall is when the fish stage up before spawn and post spawn when just out there wondering around waiting to go to summer pattern alot of times then multiple fish on your poles this is with rods in the racks not holding them in hands I might add
We werent pulling, I was just holding the boat along the points with jigs right off the bottom! All I know is that the shad are there right now! EB
was at blocker bridge sunday.we pulled ,pluged and jigged.NEVER GOT A BUMP>.fish on my locator all the time.

Enjoyed the late afternoon with EB. Caught several on the south end, 4-8 fow, biggest 15" long and just under 2lbs. Bait of choice was big Tie-Dye color Crappie Pro Wasshoppers.
Yeah the ride was smooth in that Ranger from Blocker to Bugtussell! 3-4 ft waves.Nothing like catching a 14 inch fish with the rod in your hand! EB
Fished the south end yesterday, kept 20, 15 were from 12 to 14 inches. Used all the techniques I hired EB to show me :popcorn Best technique was pulling jigs until I found a spot then holding jigs over the group of fish. I fished water from 4-12 feet, 9 was the ticket. Used BG jigs in all different colors and styles, didnt matter at first but later in the day they definitely liked the shad colors best.
Glad you had a good trip Fishers. Had EB with me yesterday on Tenkiller showing him something different including water and techniques that work well on the clear water lakes. We ended up with 14 keepers but had to cut the day short due to my 3yr old GR' DAUGHTER last T-Ball game which they won 23 to 3 and took 1st place in the Checotah league. We had a great time yesterday and seeing those beautiful crappie 6' to 7' deep and all their colors shining as you reel them to the boat was something new for EB and an eye opening experience. We did catch 2 smallies yesterday as well mid-lake....Ranger
Yeah I had a great time with Rabger in Tenkiller seeing those beautiful fish! Cpd21 and I tried the same techniques in the clear water on Eufaula today! We only had three keepers, we were looking more than fishing! When we found good brush we caught fish. Just didn't find a lot of good brush. We fudged from Porum to Stabding Rock! EB
Not yet OkieDon is going to be my man and we are going to get started on it like next week. EB is a special kinda guy and I have a few things to say about him also all good.....Ranger
Fished Saturday and Sunday and had 37 Saturday and 38 Sunday. We fished in 4-8 ft with beaver tails black and pink was the best color. Lots of nice keeping size fish and boy was it hot today! Water temp got to 89 today. EB
Fished the south end from 530 am to 1130 am yesterday. I didnt keep any fish (freezer is full). Counted the ones over 10 inches-8. I am guessing I caught 15-25 from 8-10 inches. It really has changed since I was there about a week ago. Caught larger fish before, now its mostly small fish. The fish were more spread out last time. This time the fish were more schooled up. I had to hop from spot to spot, and caught most off one spot. Shad colored jigs were by far the best color. I fished brush, ledges, rock piles and points from 12 to 4 FOW. The best was a main lake point in 5-9 FOW. Water temp is up to 87 now.
Fished Friday at Longtown and had 26 nice fish from 7:00-12:00.Flippin baby shads around Stabding timber in 8-12 ft of water.
Fished today down south and kept 53 nice fish from 8:00-12:00.It's getting hot and the fish are getting in the cover really thick, if you go early the heat isn't bad. EB
I was fishing in the creek catching fish around timber! Shallow!!!
We went this morning and kept 33 over 11 inches! That was are slot today, we probably caught 50 before 1:00. Eufaula fishing is better now than its been all year. EB
Attachment 95260Fished today with EB and Todd D on the south end of the lake and we kept 44 nice crappie and had several tournament fish pull off before getting them in the boat. The pattern today was shallow stumps, laydowns, and trash under willow trees in 3' to 5' DOW. Baits were from Bobby Garlands in blue thunder, pearl, black shad, and blk/chart. and Slab bandits in pearl, truse/pearl, and black/chart. Also we caught several on Yum Wolly Bees in pumkin/truse. Water temp got up to 88 degrees this afternoon and the bite was fast on the right stuff. Heres a pic to Todd D...Ranger
Had the chance to spend the day on the water with two really great guys and real good fishermen. EB and Ranger both are a good people and very fun to fish with and I would recommend spending a day fishing with either one. Had a great time and caught alot of fish and learned alot. Todd d.
my family and i went fishing on eufaula lake wed the 4th, no luck... it was also the first time any of us had been there. we had a hard time finding a bait shop or tackle shop, i needed a new reel, but we had fun. we were shore fishing and i was wondering if maybe next time we should rent a boat. can anybody recommend a good place to rent?? it not, any good places to shore fish???
A guide would be a big help if the cost is in the budget. I fish the inside dock at the state park. Even in this heat they catch some nice crappie. They have a snack bar and bait right there in the dock. Good luck.
yeah we found that place, pretty nice set up they have. maybe for my mom's bday we'll do a guided trip, i'm sure she'd love that. thank you for the input!!
Ranger and I went this evening, we started around Arrowhead and fish from there to Blocker to the timber in Railroad cove and caught only four small ones! So we loaded up and headed to Coal creek we went up the creek a ways ended up catching around 30 on stumps 2-3 ft deep. We found in 5-15 fow. Not a bad day but we had to idle all the way up the creek it's really stumpy right now. EB
Glad to hear you caught some fish. I fished timber at Longtown on Sunday and Bugtussle Monday and struggled to get bites both days. The fish I did catch were very shallow 2-3 fow on wolly bees, black and pink. It was definitely off from the previous week. Racquet an
Went out on the north end this evening got on the warer at 5:00 fished til 8-15 or so and caught 23 keepers out of brush piles in 8-14 ft. We were fishing Cajun cricket and pepper pearl baby shads. The water looks better than I have seen it in months! EB
Big fish biting on Eufaula right now! EB
EB, are you spider rigging or tight lining?
We are jigging with one pole one jig! Today was the toughest day I've had on the water in along time! I tried everything I knew to do! Some days your just snake bit! EB
Bryan,, where is Rail road cove i have never heard of this one??
Thanks,Clint
East bank across from Arrowhead Lodge, well its alittle north ..Lots of standing timber you can't miss it...Ranger
I didn't know either til EB took me in there a few weeks ago....Ranger
Had 43 today with some nice fish! Started at 8:00 and had 40 by noon! Good fish biting early! EB
Fished mid lake early til around noon and got bit 6 times and caught 5 of them. Dipping and Swimming jigs in woodpiles and standing timber. Elimanating water today early. Ran into Poncho (Racketan on the forum) around Blocker and had a very good visit with him on the water. What a nice feller so if you see him on the water be sure to say Hi. He will be in a White and Yellow Bass Cat with a Black Motor. Swell guy. After an uneventful morning I finally caught them in 3' to 10' this afternoon around stumps and laying wood in the water and ended up with 21. Nothing that I would want to bring to the scales though....Ranger
Fished today looking for some fish worthy of catching for Saturday..didn't find them today either. We weighed our biggest 7 and had 7lbs 4ozs.....not good enough. We did have 2 big fish come off at the boat and we would of netted them on Saturday so that would of made the weight alil better.....Ranger
Odie and I fished today as well, we kept 29 after throwing back 15 tgen we decided to keep some! We probably could have weighed 8.50lbs. We were fishing jigs and minnows around stumps and brush! We had a blast catching them today! EB
Well I started a report on Eufaula in 2008 and it was popular, so I guess I will start another one. Unless they tell me I can't, lol.
We fished last weekend a had had 15 keepers. The bite was pretty slow, but we had two big storms pass through, that was very much needed. Im sure a fire fighters and farmers prayers were answered last weekend. With cooler temps on the way the bite should get better. The fish will start relating more to the bottom, rip-rap, brush, and breaklines. EB
Glad to see you break the ice and get the big E on the board again!
Glad you gotter back up and running Brian. Been missing this thread.
