Went out around noon today and fished until 7pm. The crappie were there but in lock jaw for me and several other boats I talked to.
The males were in the middle of the coves, suspended. I'd see a ball of fish on shad, pick up a couple of small males on minnows, and that was it. Nothing near the bank.
I saw lots of moss clumps floating on the surface in the coves, so I'm thinking this warm weather is going to make the lake turn over.
Never seen Kaw as clear as it is south of Sarge creek. 7-8' visibility. Unheard of.
Brought home 3, 12-13" males and one sandy for the dinner table. Released all the rest.
