Glad you all had a chance to enjoy this unusual day! Strange no Black crappie though.

    Went squirrel hunting yesterday
    Morning, went over to check
On the crappie at 11, have a buddy coming over to fish Monday and wanted to check on the fish for him. Muddy to discolored to Cherokee. Caught a couple really nice fish , got in 1 place and it was an 11" fish as fast as you could pull them up. Left about 3 for a crappie dinner with garden veggies!! Mmmm good !

    Default Finally got to go

After 23 straight days building engines and getting airshow pilots ready for the big airshow, I finally got to take a day off just for myself. So, at 4 AM yesterday I met Frank300 in his drive where we promptly loaded and headed for Tenkiller. Frank had put out a couple of crappie hotels a week or so before and we were desperate to see if the fish were using them yet. They were home, but not in the mood to be coerced into a G daddy breakfast yet so we moved to another location, and same thing applied. They didn't hear the dinner bell. After a couple of more waypoints were hit we went back to the first spot. Still the crappie had lockjaw, but Frank landed a hefty flathead that he deftly handled with his Bonehead 7 ft. jigging rod. We were given a couple of good waypoints from a buddy of ours so it was plug and run time. Fish home there but same story. I ended up with none. By days end we were tired hot, thirsty, hungry and fishless to boot. Still, it was a great day on the water getting to enjoy one of the finest hobbies a guy could have. Can't wait until the crowd leaves after Labor Day and the lakes return to more serene conditions!

Well it still beats turning wrenches! I have became very aware of that concept, just because I can see them, doesn't necessarily mean I can get them to hop in the boat!

Here's a post just for you RDJJ, went fishing for 3 hours Saturday morning. The fish had moved, weird thought I left the gate closed. Caught 2 nice fish, finally found good fish and they weren't having anything I offered. Had to quit to go bale hay! Beautiful morning probably saw 4 boats total before we left. One note sandbass were up chasing shad for over an hour in one area that we saw.

Redge, I wouldn't wish that on anybody. But it's nice to know your human .. LOL. That sounds like one of my days on killer.

It was pretty warm to be baling hay, have a safe trip back.

This kind of makes you my hero Redge- don't know if I could have remained pure and resisted that temptation to go running off to chase those trashy striped things. wTG.
