Nice, glad you got out....by the way, I'm interested in knowing what you using and what colors you were catching them on in the morning.
You'll see my interest in what you used, because of my experience tonight....I'm looking at colors for late September.

Went out from 5 to 8 pm.
Hit the deep water...fish are on the bottom again in the area.
If you notice the pictures, this is the only combo that I could catch fish with.
Chartreuse RR jig, Chartreuse dyed GLOW curly tail, and Chartreuse niblet....if I changed ANY part of that combo, I could not coax a bite....put this combo back on, and they smacked the heck out of it!
I used every color swimbait and curly tails I had, even different color glow baits, I used plain jig heads, and white RR jig heads, and no niblet...not a single bite on anything else.
I started out and caught 20 fish in the first 40 minutes, then I changed colors, nothing.... put original on back on, caught fish....changed, nothing...continued this the whole time.
    THE CRAPPIE WERE VERY PARTICULAR.
I think what was happening, is the water is so dark at depth, due to the plankton, algae, etc, that the Chartreuse GLOW is Super bright and sticks out do they can find it easy, and then they follow the blade and thumping tail and pick up the bright glow...and smash it!
Several times I thought a smallmouth hit...they were smacking it with any retrieve.
    Go figure!
    😆

Did you happen to try different color niblet, like pink?

I wonder if it was just the scent not the color of the niblet?

Thanks Imp...I had a hunch that if Chartreuse glow worked in the evening , then Chartreuse was probably the color during the day.
I'm actually going to try the glow in the day, Due to the color of the water....we'll see how that works!
