I hope to be out Monday morning to do a little scouting again and pretend to fish.
May all the fish tales you catch be longer than the ones you tell !

So, I take that you could find plenty of fish....but finding them and getting them to bite are too totally different things!lol

Everything that we have been catching is on the bottom and with a very slow retrieve...natural colors in the day, Glow in the evening.
Are you slow and deep enough?

Probly not, i think i could catch some if i could find some real structure and vertical jig. Iam not to happy that the restrooms will soon be locked they already are at the marina sign in door says closed for season, and they are still pulling the lake down with no rain in weeks! all the state marker bouys are out of place or completly gone, they need to do some house cleaning up on the hill if you ask me.

Yep....don't get me started on the COE and Park Management....I am not a fan of either.
I have no idea what the rush is to drop the level or hold it down til most of the spawns are over...maybe the 1000 year Winter flood is coming and no one has told us!lol
    I better quit now!

Channel 7 (1007-WHIO) said that they are going to make the campgrounds nicer???....that way you'll be able to sit around in a nicer environment and have a more comfortable view of the lowered, green, algae and poop infested water, that smells like rotten eggs....you'll have a nice time at the park, even though you can't fish, boat, or swim at the lake..plus, they'll have nice clean restrooms that you can use all year round, just for paying campers only!lol

Went out yesterday morning from 7:30am till 12:15,with a little success as all crappie were under 9in.Marked a lot of bait fish as usual. Had the best bites on Keitech by working (jigging) in among all the fish as we found them in all my marked areas. Water temp like impdog stated 69-70 deg, wind was not an issue even in my ski/fish so good day fishing just not catching.

Went out Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I've been tied up all year, haven't got on the water nearly as much as I normally do. We bought a new house and it's sucking the life out of me and my wallet! I booked a cabin for three days, just to get away and do some fishing. Tuesday was the best day out of the three. Fished for walleye and crappie in the morning. Caught three eyes. Only one keeper. Plenty of crappie, no monsters. 9"-10" mostly. Everything was close to the bottom and deep. Drop shotted jigs and minnows. Wednesday and Thursday, they were on the bottom, damn near buried, lol and not biting much of anything. Had to drag the jig on the bottom slow.... with an occasional hop. By Thursday they had shut down. Water temp had fallen quite a bit. Decided to do some scouting instead of trying to convince them to bite.

Nice report...seems to still be the same that we were finding.
I imagine the wind will mix the water up and the lake will equalize at about 60 degrees....at about 50 degrees they will start gorging for Winter...it won't be long!
