Wow. That is impressive. Magnum or LRs? How many PBRs

Ima Leupold man myself (cant afford a Steiner) but the first scope I put on a 270 when I was 19 was a Simmons Deerfield 3x9x40
It did the trick and even busted a few squirrel noggens at 100 yrds using it so I was happy
One thing to keep in mind is you want to make sure the scope is a rimfire scope as a regular scope of the same power is different.
but being as it is a 32mm objective (the big end of the scope ) it should be a rimfire scope. Also im not a big fan of the LARGE objectives for normal hunting due too the fact you have to mount them so much higher to clear the barrel

I like a low power say a 1.75x5 power scope so you still get good magnification on further shots or you can power down for closer shots thus eliminating target movement in the scope when you are shaking a little bit.I was looking at some Savage 22/410ga. over and under's that are pretty cool!22 for the longer shot and 410 for the running shot!I hunt them suckers with a old Model 12 20 gauge full Winchester pump w#6 high brass. Gun is so light you can shoot it with 1 hand and that full choke barrel with knock one out of the highest hickory tree.Congrats on your purchase Don. Now go kill some of them tree rats!

No, I haven't been in the liquor cabinet again, or had the first PBR today. My stepdad was like Rusty, you take his word or get stuck. When he told us it was a 350 yard shot he was on his 5th scotch and water. I think center of the pond from the patio was more like 175 yards. Being a purple heart marine sniper from ww2 I wouldn't doubt his word.
I'm not a long ranger on guns, more of a pistol man. Removing the 3" center out of a target at 10 yards is what I like to do.

Steve, save those 20 gauge high brass hulls, we can reload some one day.
