Ima Leupold man myself (cant afford a Steiner) but the first scope I put on a 270 when I was 19 was a Simmons Deerfield 3x9x40
It did the trick and even busted a few squirrel noggens at 100 yrds using it so I was happy
One thing to keep in mind is you want to make sure the scope is a rimfire scope as a regular scope of the same power is different.
but being as it is a 32mm objective (the big end of the scope) it should be a rimfire scope. Also im not a big fan of the LARGE objectives for normal hunting due too the fact you have to mount them so much higher to clear the barrel
