    And, mounted flush on the bow of the boat you would be fishing about 16'-17' closer to the waypoint.

    Antenna is mounted directly over transducer. It is mounted high pick up as many satellites as possible. Hoping to increase accuracy.

    If I did a lot of single pole fishing I would just mount it flush on the deck. Not much need for GPS up in them cypress trees on oxbows

    That is true.That's why i use Lowrance no need for external antennas.
