If they would close the season from March 1st to May 31st every year, it would reduce the fishing pressure, eliminate the single pole argument and protect the fish until they have a chance to spawn and their fry to hatch. The crappie population would explode and the rest of the year would not have near the pressure that we see during the spawn.
