    Default Sardis Rod Limit

Single poles for all! I'm telling you it would solve everything. Reduce pressure and no more tangled up lines when you go through a school of bass. See I told ya, problems solved...lol

Bassman, when you go Bass fishing how many poles you got laying on the deck? When I did that I couldn't walk for all the rods your just going to have to get in a boat with someone and try trolling. It may really not be your cup of tea but it would sure give you a better understanding of what is all about. The greatest misconception out there is that everyone that trolls catches a limit every time they go out. I would venture a guess that on a yearly average that less than 5% of Trollers catch a limit almost every time they go out and for 75% their average catch rate would be less than half a limit. Also trolling is a technique that let's you fish year round instead of just the spawn and late fall.

The season suggestion is probably the best idea for sustaining fish populations and growing fish but it's not something that is native to the south and I'd bet it would be met with some serious grumbling.

think theres some grumbling now about pole limits. try seasons. that would draw a crowd at the next meeting.

There already is a season. It's on right now. It's called the SPAWN and there's more boagts on the lake for the next 2 months than you can shake a stick at. Triton said there were about 50 boats in where he's at and another 50-60 riding up and down the lake. Can't even think about having your rod tips sit still for more than about 30 seconds. Give it til about mid may and that number will be cut to about 15% of whats there now

That's what I mean DD. If they would close the season from March 1st to May 31st every year, it would reduce the fishing pressure, eliminate the single pole argument and protect the fish until they have a chance to spawn and their fry to hatch. The crappie population would explode and the rest of the year would not have near the pressure that we see during the spawn.
