2012 surveyed Sardis and found 695 crappie of various lengths. EXCEPT 8"-9" due to COE opening the spillway and flushing the lake during the spawn a couple years ago. The fishery is on such good shape people from 24 states traveled here to fish last year.

Once we catch the legal fish now the catching is going to drop off sharply due to the missing year class.

MDWFP proposed changing to a 10" MLL, 15 creel, and 40 boat limit to allow some catching during this lean time. Intending to raise the limit back to 12" next year.

68 single poles stood up and said hog wash. The fishery is not in good shape. The evil single polers have killed it.

MDWFP Fisheries Chief runs to the MDWFP Commission at his first opportunity and asks them to take two of our poles. Without the customary comment period I might add. They immediately comply.

Your post seems to imply that Keith made the last 2 statements about single poles and the Fisheries Chief. Keith Meals is a fine man and a dedicated MDWFP biologist, and he would not make those statements. I have no doubt that he gave you the facts and figures, but you should not try to piggyback your own opinions at the end.
