I agree about the barb on the sickle hooks. We've switched hooks on some of our Minner Critters, and like the True Turns with double barb much better for holding the minnows on. We've also noticed less fish coming off while grabbing the net.

Have yall noticed how the far outside pole gets a bunch of bites? When you are turning, it seems like that pole speeds up the most and then slows down. I know a lot of times the change in speed triggers crappie to bite! What are yall's thoughts on that?!I think color, wave action, which effects light penetration, food source activity, pressure, all play a role at any given time of the day! I'm sure those knats with that minnow creates a larger target and lifelike meal.Bigger crappie this time of year aren't gonna waste a lot of energy chasing small bait. They want something that's gonna fill them up with minimal effort!I also think the aberdeen hook because of the flash it puts off with a minnow wiggling on it gets their attention also! You have both vibration and flash! That's probaply why we have so much fishing tackle in our boxes cause on any given day, One is gonna out fish another! That's just my 2 cents!

I wont change personally I rarely have any fish get off, I set the hook and swing them in the boat them sickle hooks are tuff but i order and keep in stock whatever folks want, To each there own ,I would be scared to say how many fish have been caught on the gnats personally dont see the need in those great big hooks a 1ot hook caught 3 fish at 2#15oz and 3 over 3# this year for me and never had a problem, so i guess its whatever you have confidence in and what works for you.

I beleive in the Sickle hooks also Donnie. Always lookin for something new. Those VMC cost WAY too much to comercially sell. They might not even work. But I'm gona give them a test. Your knats have probally caught more fish on the big 4 than any other lure.

I HAVE MORE CONFIDENCE USING A GNAT .HOWEVER THE COLOR THING BLOWS MY MIND . I CATCH FISH ON COLORS TROLLING THAT I WOULD NOT USE JIGGING FOR THAT TYPE WATER . EXAMPLE WHITE IN STAINED WATER ? WHAT GIVES ?AND YES THERE ARE DAYS THAT THEY HIT ANY COLOR AS LONG AS IT HAS A MINNOW ATTACHED TO IT ! I CHANGE COLOR EVERY 20 MIN. OR SO IF I DONT CATCH A FISH . SOME TIMES IT HELPS SOMETIMES NOT .THATS WHY THEY CALL IT FISHING NOT CATCHING .
