An aberdeen has a bigger barb than a sickle. When I'm straight jig fishing I prefer a sickle but if using minnows, I like aberdeens so I don't loose as many minnows. The hook that did the best for me at Grenada this time was a 2/0 red aberdeen jig hook that I had tied some silver tensile on.

Your tip for the day is. Buy some colored hooks. I have white, orange, red and char colored hooks in my box. DOES make a difference at times

Cabelas has Aberdeen Sickle hooks on sale in Bargin bin now. Just got 100. Scott is right smaller barb causes more shook off minnows but sickle hook for me causes fewer Crappie shake off's.

I know it's not scientific, but if you waive an egg roll in front of Minners face, he'll jump on it no matter what it's stuffed with.

I tell ya one thing Rees, lot of points I agree with on this thread, when I first started slow trolling and my partners side of the boat would get hot, and usually its just one pole for some reason, it would drive me crazy, but alot of time on the water had taught me to be patient and sooner or later they will come to your side of the boat. And one more thing for sure Feesh and I know that if your fishing a ledge boat placement on that ledge has all to do with it. He as well as I can operate the boat good enuf usually that if they are tight to a certain depth on that ledge you can hurt the other persons feelings pretty bad just by how you place the poles on that ledge. lol

Had a limit, one fish over 15 inches, several over 14 and the rest over 13. Only 5 throw backs.
