I've got some of the red aberdeen sickles from Cabelas and used them at Grenada this time. The only problem I see with them is the stiffness of the hooks. A gold light wire Eagle Claw aberdeen will straighten out if hung. The aberdeen sickles won't. I wish you could find a red light wire aberdeen hook.

On some days the fish definately want a little color and some days a straight minnow is all they want for the most part. 2 things to remember, On a GOOD DAY it doesn't matter, and on a BAD DAY it doesn't matter ! Its the days in between the good and bad where you need to figure out whats working best. The 2 MCC tournaments I fished this year, the minnow critters and Gnats (both tipped with a minnow) has caught the fish we took to the scales. for both these tournaments the bite was on the slow side, but not considered BAD.

I think this is the best answer I've seen on this board, and I totally agree with it!!!!! Great observation.

So nobody will respond on the color idea ? Have caught fish on dirty water with white as well as black in clear . Do you find this odd ? Actually white has been my go to color more times than not . I found this due to fishing all white on trace one day and the next trip to enid i just tipped them all with a minnow and started fishing . Thinking that i would change them as i went . Ended up leaving at least one white gnat on each pole , when fishing enid .
