TOO MANY IDIOTS TO FEW BULLETS
I like that 19 number for an average-its better than our explorer with a v6-higher is better though. This will be my daily driver too--52 miles a day back and forth to work.
Get 17 out of mine, sure it could use some injectors tho, no chip. Also has 265000 miles on it. One thing to remember, diesels are more exspensive to work on, fuel is more, and 16 quarts of oil for an oil change is stupid on a pick-up truck.

Get a car that fits ya, WAY CHEAPER in the long run!!!!!!!! Just a beater like the yankees do in the winter time and save your truck. Mine is for work and I drive it most of the time but to commute I think I would find me a small car.

what are you pulling
Unless you need the power to do a lot of pulling they ain't worth having with the up front cost difference, added cost of fuel and the maintaince cost associated with a diesel. Friend has a Ford 350 with 6.0 pulls delivery trailer all day and gets 12. Pulling his pontoon at 65 around 14. Just driving around 16/17. Also if you are talking new, all new trucks have added exhaust gas cleaner installed that filters out all the particles and every one in a while goes into a regen where it burns all that soot up and blows it out the exhaust.if for some reason it plugs up it won't be covered under warranty and costs several hundred to get cleaned the have also added Urea injection to exhaust system that requires you to buy that additive to add to a tank. Another added cost.
