Ok, from what I've read so far, I maybe can stay just using the PD and big motor as backup.
So I have the batteries (2) that came with the boat, no problems at all so far, they are Interstate SRM-27, is this a good size or do I need bigger??

That's a good battery, but in you want to use the tm all day at 1.5 - 2mph, in a wind, gp 31's would give you more trolling time.

I agree with all the folks that use the TM with Ipilot. Dang that Maj, he cost me more every time talk to him...But it's worth it.... I used the foot control spider rigging the other day and caught a bunch more than the 30 I kept and it worked great. Aint' nutin like it pullin cranks in my opinion. Maj hit the nail on the head, I have seen him in action.
I have an 80# MK Maxxum foot control that I took off when I got the Terrrova and kept it just in case I didn't like the new one... It's not going back on this boat... That Terrova is the thang.
