The name is James if your want to be formal, lol or as my forum name states Little Skeeter is also what I respond to at times. I am new to Missouri and moved here for a job at Fort Leonard Wood. I was in the Navy for a total of 8 years. I am 34 years young. I currently live around Lebanon, MO. I have made my way up to Truman a few times but since I dont know the lake I dont travel to far each time as I am by myself and with all the trees and stumps I see I dont want to get stranded on my own, lol. I love the look of Truman, just looks fishy! lol

I have tried fishing the Bagnell dam spillway side a few times and have caught some decent crappie from 11-12 inch range. Just enough for my limit.

I am looking forward to getting to know some of you all, from what I have read on here so far this is a great forum for crappie fishing talk. I am actually also hoping to make a few friends on here as well. I need a fishing buddy up here. We have no family in this state and I basically dont know a single soul.

Currently my fishing rig is my Ford F-150 towing my 18 foot Skeeter boat behind it. I am trying to learn the colors of lures to use here but it is going slow so far. Hitting the bait shops and asking tons of questions has been my plan of attack so far, other than throwing several thousand casts in the lake each time to find out what works. I have not had a lot of time off from work to fish lately but I am hoping that I will this fall.

I also do some taxidermy on the side. Just mammals right now, but am going to learn birds and fish at some point.

I guess that sums me up in a nut shell. See ya'll around.
Welcome to the board and to the Ft Wood area i'm just a few miles from loz and fish it a bunch and will be happy to show you around down there whenever you take a notion.

Hey, that would be great. I have been fishing a lone mostly and well to be frank about it I miss jawing with someone while I fish and have a good time. I will send you a PM with my info so that if you ever need a partner just let me know. I work at the Fort but live in Lebanon so I drive a lot, and I can not keep my cell phone on at my work, so this site might be the fastest way to get a hold of me as I am always on the computer. But I will send you my data. Looking forward to some fish with ya in the future. Thanks for the offer.

If your wanting to catch some crappie and learn or have some great fellowship on LOZ than I would for sure take Bugs up on his offer. The man can and will put you on some fish and share some great info with you.

Well I never stop learning something new all the time. But meeting good folks and having a good time is always a good thing to have going on.

Hello, my name is Matt. My wife, parents, and kids all love to fish for crappie. I just recently got my first boat. I have a black 1990 Champion with a 175 Yamaha. I'm really excited to have it! My dad has a Red/Blk 89 Champ with a Mercury. We have fished Truman most of our life but since I have a couple young kids and not having my own boat my fishing has been limited for the last couple years. Looks like a great board. We fish Truman mostly. Matt

Hello there everyone! Pat here ( buckeye) for the first time. 37 years young. Married 6 years. 2 young girls ( 4 and 2). We just moved down here from the Chicago area, where we lived for the past three years. Before that I spent 33 years in NW Ohio. My wife and I are both District Managers, she is with KIA and I am with Harley-Davidson. Our new house is in Kansas City Mo, in the Liberty School system.

I run a 2001 Tracker Targa WT with a 90 Merc. Been fishing on my own boat since the age of 16 and was the first mate on my grandpas from the time I could walk pretty much. I have always fished big water only ( Lake Erie/Lake Michigan). Walleyes, smallmouth bass, largemouth, white bass and some bluegill and crappies occasionaly.

So far we absoulutely love it here. We have been here three weeks and the moving company just delivered the boat yesterday. I plan on heading out to Smithville this weekend for some crappies.

I love to hunt and fish, shoot all types of firearms, reload, camp, heck just being outside. Our 4 year old has the bug as well.

Looking forward to good fishing, new friends, and new opportunities.

    Pat

Welcome to MO bud! You sound like me, always doing something outdoors! Get yourself settled in and hit those lakes. Watch this forum and you will get some lake info from guys who also fish near you. Glad to have you on here, that kid sounds like he is just an acorn that didnt fall to far from the tree. lol
